Q:

Another Edgun Fan

New to the forum fellas, so be gentle.

I have been trolling for the last few months so have learned quite a lot about Edguns from the devotees out there.

It started for me about 3 months ago, I spend a lot of time on the UK Airgun BBS, sometimes contributing but usually looking for unusual guns.

I buy guns regularly, play for a while then usually get rid, some become keepers but not many.

I am a gun snob really, not liking the normal, common stuff so when I saw an R3 for sale I imediately did a crash course, researching them in a few hours, anyway I bought the gun and knew immediately it would be a keeper – solid, pretty, and felt good to shoot.

The gun was a standard (no mods) and when I got it was shooting about 14ft/lb (illegal) I just turned the HST down, it was obvious this was an FAC gun (over 12ft/lb) and would need modifying (see my next post).

So last month I though I would like a Lelya to try, searched and found in Europe Airgun Heaven (Holland) were the only company advertising them, mailed them and fortuitously they were about to receive a batch, so ordered one and got it 4 days later 😯

Not sure what all the fuss is about waiting for Edguns 😉

Have to say I dont particularly like the Lelya, its too small, the stock is very uncomfortable but it is very accurate (rested its pellet on pellet) and sweetly engineered – its very difficult to shoot due to poor cheek weld and discomfort (best scope by far has been the MTC Viper connect with zero eye relief) – it probably isnt a keeper 🙁

So here they are

Not sure thats added the images we will see

Anyway I have been playing with the R3 all day finding to follow

I like that bipod on the Matador. Where can I find one of those?

Its an Atlas Bipod with the Picatinny quick connect top

I got mine from Tacfire Systems in the UK, Google heads with Accu-shot in the States

Brilliant bit of kit built like a brick shithouse 😯

Very expensive but with the quick connect and a piece of rail mounted on the foregrip (either screwed or via a stud to rail adapter) I can move it from gun to gun 😎

LOL, please try to salvage the barrel, shroud, breech, valve, regulator, air cylinder, trigger/linkage, and loading tray. I can jury-rig the rest together (the stock).

I’m handy that way!

Anxiously awaiting for your results.

‘LOL’ please tell me there’s been a mistake!

You didn’t get the enhanced grip stock, foam check-weld enhancer, and ergo butt plate????

Send this piece of trash to me immediately, and I’ll try to do what I can.

I can’t promise much, but I’ll try. If I ruin it, I just won’t bother to return what’s left. That would be doing both of us a favor.

No need for thanks! It’s just the way I roll.

Hoot, you are, well just a hoot 😆

Kindly, yes
Helpful, yes
Old, not sure
Innocent, definately not 🙄

Well as I like the action of the Lelya so much I am going to work on it, I fancy a tactical approach so have ordered some aluminium bar, fasteners, Picatiny rails and some FAB grips and a buttstock

Plan is to encase the bottom in a single milled bar, fit a full length Pic rail on the bottom to hold the front and pistol grips and fit a removable buttstock with adjustable cheek riser

The biggest problem is the length of pull increases and the slide may clash, we will see

I will post some pictures when I am done

MAYBE if it all goes horribly wrong I will send you the remains – honest :thumb:

Hoot…its in the mail 😀

Great idea if it makes it feel more natural and comfortable to shoot!
