another hammer post (sorry)
Hello,
quick question about hammer and spring upgrades. so i’ve still got the stock spring, hammer and breach on my stealth/talon ss and i’m wanting to upgrade to a hybred derlin/brass hammer and spring set up. now i’m wanting to keep it to the factory set power of 12 foot pounds (dont laugh with your 70+:) so what weight do i need the hammer to be? do i weigh the spacers too or just the hammer.
so far the only mods internaly that may effect power is a barrel polish, the rest is still untouched.

spring, 4 spacers, the hammer and then the breach so having just the spring and better fitting hammer makes for a smoother action.
point taken on the weight though, do you think the spacers should be considered or will the new spring compensate for this?
make it the same weight as the OEM hammer that is working now.
I see no reason to change it out if it is working now. What is the point?

As you wish to stay at the same power output you will need the duplicate the weight and spring preload and force. Change that relationship that is already working and you will likely exceed the 12fpe output.
Go for it and report back what worked.
