Q:

Another Noob

Just took my Talon SS .22 out for the first time today. What a great shooting gun! Or at least it was until the valve on the tank started leaking… which put a quick end to the day. I heard a small hiss at the front of the gun’s air tank and lost muzzle velocity. What can I do to fix this? I got on the Airforce web site but they were a little vague on how to fix it. Any ideas? pictures would be good too.

Also I was getting a dry metal squeak in the first stage of the trigger. From what I’ve read the trigger is not supposed to lubed, but is a squeak normal? I put about 100 – 150 rounds through it before the tank went flat.

i have/had the same problem with my talon.

IF there is something on the seat of the valve it will cause it to leak by.

occassionally, a pellet will leave residue enough to cause the top hat to not shut off completely…look int the breech after remove the air bottle. i once had a pellet fall back out of the breech causing the top hat to hang open…drained the tank instantly… :suprisedn: :confusedn:

if your rifle is brand new…it should be under warranty.

do NOT disassemble anything…call Airforce and discuss it with them; they will tell you what needs to be done.

I did fill the air tank to about 2600 psi and I could still a very slight leak.

If the air pressure got low enough in the tank, it may have just leaked out for that reason, Did you try to air it up again?
