Another R5 on the forum!
Hoot:
I have not even fired either bullet, I hope for free weekend time and I will write my observations from the field. My R5 is a standard version, paired with Edgun riflescope 12×44 and for the night I use Yukon Photon RT 4.4 x 42 S
I’m also interested in the precision of new baracudas in .30 cal. The JSB 44 gr comes in for 10 days so I’ll know what’s better for my R5.
This is all for me, I salute you from Croatia.

Also… for 100m I’d not complain for first session but at 50 it should be clearly under an inch (or less). Please let us know when you check JSB.
Or just shoot more to get used to .30 cal… my very first shots were really not grouping tight. R5 with 100 Joule onboard is different league than my usual 17 Joule ‚plinkers’ in 22 and in 177. It’s a very different animal.
I have experience with .25 cal (Fx and Edgun) and it is not problem in power of .30 cal. I bellive that problem was in this pellets. When JSB arrived will tested and post here.

thanks for letting us know the performance.
the expectations seems high just like the guns potential.
i am sure you will be fine.

Yes I was cleaned barell…
I’d try 44gr JSB for sure. I’ve always had better results with JSB Exact than with H&N Baracuda. Also recently I set mine back at 260 m/s for JSB 44gr as it seems to consume less air (two extra shots) and it’s considerably quieter compared to just slightly higher 268. Overall shooting experience at 260 seems to be nicer imho.

Did u try cleaning the barrel? Well for 100m I guess that’s not too bad….
JSB 44.75 PELLET WILL BE INTRESTING
Here is some 5 shoots gruops from today testing new R5 and new H&H Baracudas in .30 cal. Well I expected better precision of barracuda, I would soon get JSB exact .30 2.90 grams for which I expect better accuracy. I know the R5 is brand new and needs some adjustments, but my other Edguns were more precise out of the box. Speed was 264 m / s and pellets are weight 3.00 grams. Crosswind 0-2 mph from 3 o’clock.
Absolutely stunning !!! Well done to you and piter
Enjoy! And let us know about the new h&n

My experiences with Edguns before and after 2013 are without distinction, and this is the ultimate precision (see pictures if you do not). If you have a different opinion this is your problem, so do not generalize the whole Edgun brand.
