Q:

Any benefit for getting a custom shroud for a cricket

Any benefit for getting a custom shroud for a cricket in .25 cal anyone know about how many decibels they are from the factory. I spoke to Steve at Wild West I was interested in a Daystate Airwolf .22 but he made some good points about the cricket.. And I wanted a .25 anyway.

Any benefit of reducing the sound will come at the cost of adding a few or several inches to the oal of the gun. I don’t have a .25 cal but do have a .22 cal. I got rid of the ~11 ” oem shroud with what seemed like 20 baffles were shoe horned in and replaced it with a Neil C. 16″ cf unit. That one has 4 or five baffles and it is much quieter to me. I believe more volume at the muzzle end to catch the exhaust works better than closely packing baffles or washer. Look at how well fx do at sound suppression with just an airstrpper and no baffles. So look at adding some inches to your gun if you end up getting a shroud or LDC.
