The SWFA SS 10×42 Super Sniper I purchased about a year ago has four items with it labeled Tasco: On the back of the owners manual with a date of 1995, on the front of the Product Registration, on the front of the Lifetime Limited Warranty and on the end of the White box Label Tasco made in Japan. (box the ss was packed)

And on the bottom, under the elevation turret is the word Japan. I know SWFA took over production and they moved production back to Japan. They also are renaming this scope the SS and trying to move away from the Super Sniper Logo.

This scope should proudly be labeled the “SWFA SS 10×42 Rifle Scope”

knifemaker: I agree with you, it is not a Tasco, but is manufactured exclusively by contract for SWFA in Japan.

BTW this scope is not Springer Rated, don’t use on a springer per SWFA.

Sam 🙄

Good Scope. BUT- It isn’t a Tasco. Tasco quite making them years ago.
The new Scope is the SS from SWAF and a good scope. The original Tasco Super Sniper was a decent scope. BUT they sold out to the Chinese and they became a piece of crap. ( Yeah, I know. It still uses the old Tasco instructions in the SS box. Every body complains about it. Just a cost saving move.)

If you have an orginal Super Sniper from Tasco made in Japan. or a SS from SWAF, You have agood Scope! The Modern SWAF SS is not made in China! 😉

Mike

I use the SWFA SS 10×42 aka the tasco super sniper on my condor….?

I use a UTG high one piece scope mount, no tri rail.

Mine is rear parallax,

Sam 😉
