Any Interest in Longer Barrel Vulcan .25?
Have not even shot my Vulcan yet and wanting to mod it.
Any Interest in Longer Barrel Vulcan .25? Does anyone make a longer barrel? I was thinking that with a 600mm barrel it could shoot heavier rounds faster and would make almost 60fpe?
Could this be right?

A good guess at speed gains from a longer barrel is about 12-15 fps per inch of additional barrel. Be aware there is a problem of diminishing returns when the barrel is too long…you can do more damage than good unless you also adjust/fine tune the air regulation of the gun.
The Vulcan .25 can be a 60 fpe gun, but the key lies in the modification of the HST, hammer weight, valve, transfer port, and regulator. Finding someone knowledgeable enough to make those changes, without fuxing the gun, will be the problem. Each change in one of the above parts requires adjustment of the other factors…it gets very complicated!
I would suggest you send the gun to Ernest and ask him to make adjustments to max out the potential power available from this gun. I would suggest no more than 50-55 fpe…and still have a usable shot count. I’ve dropped large animals at 50 yards with 50 fpe. Others on this forum have reported they have hunted pigs, deer, coyotes, feral dogs and cats with no problem.
Going to an unregulated Korean .30 pcp would be the best bet if you want raw knockdown power. Edgun makes a .30 that puts out around 70+ fpe, but it’s quality that you will pay for.
The .25 Vulcan is more of a utility target/hunting gun than a power pig…it might be pushed to 60 fpe, but you would need to carry an air tank with you when shooting, and your plastic valve stem head would likely break under that kind of stress.
