Q:

Any timing on 30 grain jsb pellet, 25cal?

Any one know if or when the heavier 30 grain 25 cal pellets are supposed to be available? I like the jsbs, but use the barracudas cause i want the wind deflection of the heavier pellet. I’m still trying to talk myself out of ordering all h&n pellets this time. I haven’t had much luck grouping with either qt 100 yards, but I think that’s got more to do with my scope. I’m hitting all day long at 60 yards. I moved it out to 100 and made the mistake of gng from 10x to. 16x and now I’m lucky to hit on the 12″ target every time. I was going to Ouse the last 100cudas to compair, but I used them up trying to rezero the scope.

I would love both H&N and JSB to come out with a -/+ 35gr .25 pellet

….. and H&N to come out with a Baracuda and a Baracuda Hunter in .357 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Jep. Stuck with them JSB’s …. 😉

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2. This POS iPhone sucks though …

Predators shoot great in the Matador .25 but they are JSBs. 🙂

One of the problems with the EdGun is that you´re pretty much stuck with the JSB pellets. Both of my .22´s shot poorly with H&N pellets while every other brand .22´s seem to love them.
I expect 30gr. Baracuda´s shoot very well in my . 25 Cricket too but that is yet to be seen.

Ya, double post, I know but I had new question. How much power do you need to push those 257? I was thinking a bout building an mrod to shot bullets, but went the edgun route instead. Are these bullets exclusively cast or can the be swaged a well? I don’t much care for casting myself so if I was getting into it. I’d either want a somewhat economical way of buying them or swaging them myself. I’m going to look very hard at getting something that can shoot the bullets. I hate, I say hate the horrible bc of pellets and the rainbow projectory of these things. Does the 257 use the same barrel as the 25 or do you have to get a different one? I’m assuming the twist rate would need to be higher even if the bore was the same.

These pellets came out of the same tin I was hitting golfs balls with in my mrod. I have always had the exact opposite experience with my mrod. The jsb were good to a point, but at 100 yards, the cudas just worked better. When went back to 10x my groups shrunk to 5″ or so but t that point I was fighting wind gusts. I hit a coke can with this exact same gun a few weeks a ago using the hunter extreme cudas at bout 90 yards. Maybe the barrel didn’t have time to “lead in” he’ll I don’t and I haven’t cleaned the barrel in 600-700 rounds.

I very much doubt the problem is your scope. Many of us have found exactly this problem with the Kodiacs. Group fairly well at close range, but useless at longer range.
Yarra in Austrilia has done extensive test with them in slow motion vid’s and they tend to start spiraling at about 70-80 yards. And get progressively worse with range. Same problem with the Benj’s. Just Not good long range pellets. A shame!
And “VERY” BIG” reason why I went too the 257 cast bullets and never looked back! 😉 Now I can hit a tennnis ball 10 out of 1o at 200-250 yards. I Love-It!!! 😀

Seems like a long pellet like the one pictured in this thread would possiobly give some of the same benefits. “If twist and FPS is high enough”

Daystate Rangemaster is the first to pop up in my mind. At 36 grain they´re heavy. If you have a Cricket i strongly suggest you give Benjamin Domed a try. Only 28 gr but a very good ammo in my .25 WST. Wound up at 280-285 mps they give a good punch too.

… and now i read your question again and you didn´t ask a question i answered to. Never mind …

No and I am also still waiting for the new Polymag pellets calibers. The wheels turn slowly.
