Anybody shooting .25 cal slugs vs pellets in AF Condor?
I was wondering if anybody was shooting .25 cal slugs instead of pellets in their Condor. I’m wondering about accuracy and hitting power.

I think you will be very happy, they do take your pellet gun and turn it into a rifle. I’m extremely happy with the 39gr slugs I got … turns my .25 cal Condor into a .257 mini ;- )

The slugs shoot well …. for me, if I can hold on a ping pong ball and hit is consistently at 75 yards with an airgun, I’m very happy. I have no doubts this gun with JSB KH’s or the Slugs will do that. Not sure about the EJH’s, but I have shot them at around the 50+ yard area and they seem to group pretty well.
I think the EJH’s are good ~50-60 yard heavy hitting hunting pellets for big Jacks, Coyote. Nutria and the like. I have not shot anything with these pellets yet, but from ballistics I have read on ChairGun with velocities in the 925-950fps range indicate this pellet to be a hammer. I have read reports from other folks that have used these EJH’s for Coyote and say they are very good !
If this pellet was designed with a dome head, the BC could have been much better and this could have been an extremely popular heavy hunting pellet for PCP shooters IMHO ! That pointed head IMHO is just ridiculous, it does nothing for accuracy for sure because the point MUST be perfectly in the mid line (something EJ is incapable of). A front end like a Kodiak would have been the “cats meow” !

If you’re getting nickel size groups at 55 to 60 yards in strong wind I’d say that’s pretty good. I was just wondering if they opened up exponential after that.

I have no idea, the wind is so bad I would never ever shoot that far. Just knowing that I have the energy makes feel warm and fuzzy. At 55-60 yards a nickel +- size group is about all that I’m capable of shooting, it would take a BR shooter to really tell how she performs at 100 yards.
I can tell you if the ammo has promise and if it is shooting where my shot breaks … If it does that, I’m very happy knowing it is as accurate as I am capable of !

What kind of accuracy you getting with these slugs out at 100 yards?

Today I was shooting the 39gr Slugs in the 885+ fps area … that still gives me 50fpe at over 100yds …The BC of these slugs changes the dynamics of your gun dramatically … as in X2 !!! At about 900 fps you have a 3/4 of a mile distance that your slug can hit … this is no joke and makes your air gun very, very dangerous if used carelessly.

It is a stock Condor, not an SS, although I’m pretty sure you would be getting in the very high 800’s or maybe 900’s depending how you tuned your gun. I have no special valves, springs, brass hammers or bla, bla, bla.
These slugs are a game changer for sure for extending your effective muzzle energy to the 75-100+ yard range for sure.

Being impressed with the quality is one thing, being impressed with the way they perform in another ! I tested them out for velocity today and at my power wheel setting for 25 caliber 43gr Eun Jins I was getting 935fps with these slugs … that is awesome !! 50 fpe at 135yds because of the high BC of these slugs. Turns my 25cal Condor into a very serious large Jack and Coyote size predator gun !
I’m excited about this ….. so excited I bought 600ea more of these. Since these are not plinking ammo I will probably have these rounds for a long, long time. Once I receive my other Condor and set her up, I will sight her in using these slugs, this will be her ammo for serious predator hunting — Scope turrets set “0” and “0” I will then make turret adjustments for Eun Jin’s for varmint hunting (leaving “0”, “0” for slugs), they both use the same power wheel setting of 7/0

Looks like Bob’s .25 slug is starting to get some reviews and it looks darn good.
I’m going to find a molder and buy some for testing… if they do as well as I think they will, this may end up being a poor mans .257 !!! and that works for me just fine !

Emailed Nick Nelson today about his slugs … I kind of like his 34 grain slug as I should be able to get close to the same velocity I’m getting now out of my .25 JSB Heavies, but at a BC that is about twice as much. running his BC of about .100 gives me around 51fpe at 100 yards, in effect the same energy my JSB KH’s are giving me at 50 yards … a game changer for game hunting for sure.
I will be ordering some next week to try out.
Well I ordered some some 39gr Dish Base slugs yesterday and I’ll have them tomorrow Nielsen’s business is just about 40 miles from me or so….
I figure the slugs will give me a high BC yet give me good initial velocity, should be good for those 65-85 yard shots should they happen, with an energy of over 50fpe at 100 yds ! This is with a initial velocity of 925 fps and assuming a BC of .080. I have no idea what the BC will be but I think I’m in the ballpark.
I will be testing for sure when I receive my shipment. i take comparative pics of 25 caliber 43gr Eun Jin, JSB KH and Nielsen 39gr HP DB slugs

Very nice. I definitely can not wait. I grabbed a 24″ barrel as well. Hope to have a little .25 burner when done
