Anyone ever try lubed pellets in the R3M?
I just went out yesterday and shot a few groups with lubed pellets and noticed my groups were a little better. Of course, it’s going to take more than one shooting session for me to form any conclusions for my particular gun/barrel but, have any of you tried lubing your pellets? I tried using the search for an answer, but didn’t find much discussion about this.

A light coat of Balistol on a couple dozen pellets every few hundred shots seems to keep the barrel very clean and accuracy spot on in both my Eds.
Some of my friends use this lub. Some say the group stabilize in tight condition, some say the group significantly got better.

Interesting… I am shooting JSB Kings at 870fps lubed with slick50. My Edgun has produced a few really incredible groups the last two range sessions at 50 yards. The most noteworthy being a full mag (9 shots) into a 0.25″ group!
I was pretty satisfied, so I took it out to 100 yards for a few more groups before leaving the range. My first 5-shot group was about 1.25″ and the one after that was barely less than 1″. Then, the fliers came. The next 3 groups opened up considerably to 2-2.5″. At first, I thought it must have been just me getting tired. I watched the next few shots through my scope and noticed the “fliers” were going in completely unpredictable directions. By the time I got home, I realized that this was probably the result of overlubing the pellets. I pulled several patches through my barrel with a crownsaver and saw a black, tar-like goo come out on the first 2-3 patches….
I only go to the range maybe once or twice a month, but I’m going to begin experimenting with different ways of pellet lubing to find out which one applies the most minimal coat. Then I’ll try to compare accuracy between lubed pellets, non-lubed, and the Demp’s method. This airgun stuff is crazy.
