anyone getting one of these Hatsan pcp’s??
If so which one. If not, which one would you want if you could choose.
For the price, I am liking that pump action carbine in .22. I would choose .22 because I think in .25 it may be underpowered. In .22 you would have a wide choice in pellets. If this thing was accurate and the pump was a good design…this carbine would be a varmiting machine!

Have two of the AT44-10’s in .22 cal. I like ’em.

After I bought two, they became available with an optional LW barrel from the factory. “Stock” barrels are choked and do quite well with JSB 15.8 and 18.1gr.
Had an opportunity to try a BT65 RB in .22 this past weekend…I could get used to it.

Good info about the hammer…and I had wondered what kind of barrels they were using (so I guess it is not LW). Looks like an easy rifle to work on (alike our beloved AF rifles). Should be fun. Thanks.

As you might know, Hatsan just opened USA office for only airgun sector (not handling shotguns), to expand the North America business.
The AT44 model is the leading PCP model of Hatsan, Hatsan supplies as OEM (includes semi-assembled/licenced prarts) to several worldly known airgun makers.
AT44 was known as cheaply made stiff trigger until Quattro trigger was released; but, the trigger still looks cheap (using plastic casing).
My friend has AT44 (Hammerli Pneuma Elite), he changed the plastic casing to brass casing, and also nodified hammer from H shape to cylinder shaper (looks like Air Arms) to eliminate vibration. He believes the hammer’s viblation create turbulence at valve outlet which most likely cause irregular shot, sometimes. After finished his modification, his AT44 long looks better than S410, FX Monsoon, Marauder, HW100 at 50yards shooting range.
Currently, he is wroking on placing tinny balls (bearing balls) to hammer to eliminate more vibration/air turbulence and less cocking effort, just like Webley Raider10. Actually, I am waiting for the result to buy Hammerli Pneuma Elite10/AT44.
I will do all I can to make it as accurate as I can (barrel wise) Oh, does anyone know what barrels they use? (in house?), (LW?)???
I planned to make this a “go to” for fun plinking/varminting (short range). I don’t even think I will scope it. I like the idea of using those fiber optic sights and keeping it light.
Ultimately it will be my 7 year old sons carbine. He is fast outgrowing his daisy and his marksman…(which will be passed down to his little brother and sister) He became attached to my SS before I sold it so this will be a pleasant surprise for him.

And they are not bad for the money, but serieus group shooting is not what you (should) buy them for.
The AT44 line was good, not bad. Sometimes you had a very very good rifle, but most of the times it was not that good. (some flyers, even on 50 yards, 2 or 3 pellets way off out of a 10 shot group).
The trigger is also VERRRRRRRY stiff.. My friend has an AT44 .22 long and another friend an AT44 .22 normal, and they both feel completely different 🙂 Strange, because they should be normally be the same 🙂
The new BT65, there are a lot of problems with the SL. It’s very hard to pull and cock the gun. Also the accuracy problems where there and.. at the end all seem to say it’s not a nice gun to shoot. Also a very stiff trigger, that is not just easy adjustable.
Some also experimented with some altaros regs and others, but the shot count is less and the speed also.
So for me not a very interesting rifle, except if you want to use it just for plinking or short critter removal. For +50 yards, it’s just not that accurate enough to place a certain kill..

I ordered the carbine 44 pump in .22. I think it will be a good caliber for this little package.
Yes, Walter has a few of them. He has already alerted me to two possible issues. One being a less than ideal pump action and the other being burs in the transfer port and or crown. He gave me the green light, in essence and I respect his opinion greatly so I ordered it.
I’ll post up results when I get it.
Foxback, just getting ready to write the same thing about the power and shot count and tube size in 25. No friggen way with a 3000 psi fill. That’s more than my Rapid with either the 400-500 cc bottle and 3200 psi fill shooting only 940 FPS

I think they look alot like my Hammerli pneumas, alot like them,and for the money they are very compable ,I like the pump as well.
