Anyone install a guage between the tank and gun?
Hi everyone, first post. A friend and myself just bought brand new Condors. (mines on order, hopefully here Friday 4/11/08 ) I was wondering, is there a way to install a guage in between the tank and gun so as to monitor tank pressure? That way when you got to your desired refill pressure (say 2000) you could recharge back to 3000. What do you think?

Don’t you have to release the pressure BEFORE disconnecting a quick release?

Its a local shop so I dont have pics. I see them when Im in there. They have used them to fill my gun a couple of times as well. Give them a call and Im sure they would be happy to sell you some.

Scroll down the left side until you see Adapters and click on “air” right under it.
It doesnt say if any of those have check valves in them but Ive seen them on the web before.
Im sure you can find them cheaper as AoA isnt always the best price on stuff although they do have some things that only they sell.

Airguns of Arizona us all quick fittings for their fill station so they can change out adapters for all the different types of guns. The fittings they used are the same ones they say folks put on their guns. I believe some guns come stock with quick fill adapters. I know they are available.
Edward; I’ve never seen 3000 psi hooked up with a quick disconnect. I believe the coupling would be too weak to hold that kind of pressure.
While you might shoot your eye out if you try this, my bet is you’d blow your head off. I’d shy away from this idea. AKULA
one thing i was always wondering about was putting a gauge in the rupsure disk hole, and dilling and threading the hole on the otherside for a quick disconect like they use in paintball tanks then you do not have to unscrew it? makes sence to me what you guys think

Somewhere on this site there is a picture of a guage a member made and put on his tank. The gauge was installed on a ring that rotated and rode on orings that sealed it.

The burst disk hole is to close to the gun frame. The gauge would hit when you tried to unscrew the tank. A few guys have done gauges though. Someone did a bottle extension (I think to make the LOP longer) and put one in the side of that. Someone else made a sweet rotating sleeve with some Orings inside so that the gauge could spin around the bottle as you unscrewed the tank.
Im sure someone here has pictures of them. I no longer do as I lost that hard drive with all my pics on it.
It would seem to me that someone could replace the rupture disc area on the neck of the bottle with a mini high pressure gauge. I’m sure one of the machinist on this site has either thought about it or experimented with it.
I was thinking about the same thing just a couple of days ago.
I would much rather see a gauge on the tank instead of the rupture safety disc.
I don’t believe many other manufactures put those disc on there bottles, so I guess there hasn’t been to big of a problem over pressuring them to the point of exploding.
You should have constant vigilance while filling anyway. So unless your main gauge on your pump or scuba tank is defective, they should never be overpressured anyway.
