anyone making/can make single shot TRAYS for edgun r3m?
Instead of paying $200 for another breech that’s for an r3 and having to reassemble your gun each time .. has anyone or IS snyonemaking custom single shot trays similar to what’s used on a marauder? Id loce to have both without reassembling and I think others would agree…anyone with machine skills done this? I know i’d buy one and so would many others.
I know the breech is setup way different on the multishots but would it be possible? If so here’s the place to ask 😳
With that being said my edgun is being shipped out Monday!!! Woohoo less than a weeks wait away!

First of all, you’re a newbie here and secondly you don’t have the story correct so if anyone is the “village idiot”, it’s certainly you. Go crawl back in the hole where you came from with statements like that. This is the intelligence level of a typical Edclub member and in this case, a wannabe Edclub member who wants to belong so badly.

Yeah ernest I figuredid be doingthatin the mean time. Almost the same idea. Was just curious if you ever made one or thought about it. Wingman too ;)you guys do awesome stuff for bullpups. Thsnks for the link too, PMed the guy to see if his friend is willing to make another.
I just wanted the OPTION for both. I bought smultishot because I prefer one and knowing of the way you can sort of single load the mag works fine too..i just a curious guy what can I say? :whistle:
Anyways yeah about 2 days ago tony said he had an r3 breech avial but its not that big a concern to even think about buying one that soon. I might do what ernest mentioned by cutting a mag but would have to wait until they start selling extra mags! Can’t ruin my only 2 hahah

That’s 1 reason I don’t make single loader. If I single shoot —I put the selector to manual — load pellet in place rotate to the loaded port. Or cut 1/4 of the mag and make your own drop in loader.
The R3M can be single feed by dissengaging the mag disconector switch and by loading a pellet into the exposed pellet cylinder hole, it can then be manually rotated to line up with the bolt.
But I belive this is what you were actually asking about… yes it can and has been done.
Might ought to double check R3 availability for $199. I don’t think they are available any longer. I think I bought the last one Tony had. For my 22 short conversion from R3M.

Yeah I get what you guys are saying and appreciate the USEFUL info. Unlike the first guy didn’t read/realize I WANT a multishot, as I use my guns for hunting. Although I’ve had several single shots and have become pretty fast at reloading a pellet by hand, I just wanted the simple option to change if needed. I can always order an R3 breech for $200 and sell the multishot for $300+ if I didn’t like it! But I know I will! I live pretty close to Ernest and he was kind enough to offer to take a look at my gun and do some work on it once it arrives and I play with it for a while and decide what I want done exactly.
I am in NO WAY going to be mad or upset with ONLY a multishot, or ONLY a single shot. I was just wondering if anyone (here is obviously the best place to ask) had started making trays instead of having to reassemble the gun each time. Which still isn’t too big a deal to me. I know Ernest made Cricket single shot trays, which sounds nice. Like I said I’d be happy with either one I just prefer to have an easier followup shot. Not going to be competing in any competitions where I’ll need a fast single loader or where I’ll need the best possible group at the longest possible range. I just use these guns for pest control, small game hunting with friends, and for FUN! 🙂 So having an EASIER option to switch back and forth would be nice and was all I was wondering about.
But in the long run, if the gun can only do 1 or the other, while reassembling it, I won’t lose any sleep 😛 I just wanted to hear the latest news on something like this. I have a few ideas of things to ask Ernest if he can do so I’ll just add this to the list 😛
Plus mostly all of my other guns have the option to either single load or have a tray, so if JUST ONE gun can’t single fire, then like I said, no big deal. :2:

AND yeah that MG guy is just like the village idiot, I don’t even know why he posts here. Yeah his gun didn’t come as he expected, but then WHY would he drill holes in the stock and THEN ask for a refund!?!? If you didn’t like what you got, and KNOW you have the option to return it for full cash before you “modify” it then why mess with it? He should have just sold it and joined the Bobcat Beluga whale club! Instead he kept it, drilled in the stock, THEN asked for a refund, GOT OFFERED A FULL REFUND MINUS STOCK, then complained and blamed ED/Tony for his problems. Sounds like the guy isn’t too bright. I’m not about to start complaining when I get my gun and realize there’s no single shot option built in -_- I knew this when I bought it and was full aware. Honestly, if I had a cricket (the $ for one) I would’ve probably just gotten an R3 anyways. The single shot Edgun 2.5 is what got me interested in the guns anyways, just thought the Magazine was an added bonus especially if I can switch back and forth.
Exactly. I am asking $3k for my R3 .25 and $4k for my R3 .30 – both with metal valve stems. 😯 Then I am replacing them with a Bobcat lineup. I’ve joined the save the Beluga whale society. 😆 I am completely joking. The R3s are fabulous guns and I knew that when I bought them.
I warned folks last summer not to get the first generation of a new magazine indexing system because of the complexity and issues they always have but it fell on deaf ears. They wanted to be on the bleeding edge. MG was only concerned with how fast he got get them in his little hands w/o a thought about whether he should. In reality, that magazine system should have been tested and refined for at least a year. Why did Ed release it? The customers demanded it and the ranting about getting them out sooner was unrelenting on this forum. When MG is done blaming Ed he needs to look in the mirror for the rest of the blame.
This is more than you asked for but you might be interested.
You might ask Ernest Rowe, he has made one for the crickets. I have one and it works good but with the design of the narrow slot for the mag it can never feel as good as the R3 and how it is wide open. I am lucky enough to have both guns so if I want multi the Cricket is the gun and single if single I love my Edguns. When I got my R3M it was pretty lousy due to a malformed cam lever in my opinion. I had a few new ones made for myself and others if they had the same issue and done some polishing and got it as good as the design could be. I still did not really care for the feel of how it cycled so I got R3 breeches while I could. The 22 was a lot !! nicer than the 25 in actual use for what it is worth. Ed says a newer smoother design is coming again so maybe that will be a good deal ??
If your anything like me, In you Edgun quest you fell for the R3 single load design, then you may not be satisfied with multi. If this is the case just advertise for a breech trade as soon as you get your gun and get the rifle you always wanted right away and then order a Multi when they come available, later this year, likely. Ed is fairly adamant about not making any more R3 design parts or guns so find a trade before people can just order a multi conversion or I fear used guns will be the only option for R3 gun shoppers and they will get to be more prized.
I don’t think the Edgun market will be satisfied without R3 so there will eventually be an aftermarket solution for the single load breeches.

Id be happy with either…was just a question. You were probably “crying” when the multishots came out and you realized you were stuck without one 😉 good thing you’re happy with it. I saw a breech on the classifieds earlier if you aren’t though!
You don’t even have the gun yet and already want a single shot…lol…
It’s funny how people where dying for a multishot, and when Ed makes it their crying for the single shot….

LOL exactly what I was expecting when I wrote that :):) And hell yeah I’d pay Ed more money for a black stock, was going to have it repainted anyways might as well have a 2nd one that I can resell or whatever. Sorry you didn’t get a full refund and were ignored by the people who’s club you wanted to join, and made up in your head. I know it makes you angry when you see others giving him your money when you felt you were betrayed. Anyways sorry I said all of that, I just bought an Edgun and had this weird urge to blindly follow in the “club’s” footsteps and bash anyone not in it in hopes of being asked to join! :rofl: Hope no damage was done, I apologize, as I didn’t read your autobiography yet, just saw you complaining about the problem in numerous threads instead of dealing with it like the man you claim to be. 😈
