Anyone mount a bipod over top of your airgun?
Well have seen this done with a few PCP’s and was looking at my bipod tonight and decided to just slide my dual offset 20mm mount on the toprail and bolt up my bipod legs. Found it to be more stable and it actually does not cover the allen keys for my barrel bushings. With this configuration swapping barrels .22 to .25 is quick and easy with the 4 allens keys easily accessible I just love this setup and the legs still extend quite aways. The legs swing forward or backwards out of the way.
Anyways just thought I would share this idea with other airgunners. 8)

My bipod?
Well it is a knock off copy of the military type bipod, some parts are plastic some metal but out of all the bipods I have had I like it the best. I think the Harris style is tougher but I like this one more guess because it is different.
Here is a link for a bipod something like what I bought.
I also used a dual 20mm offset with a 11mm to 20mm slide on adapter to connect to the AF 11mm rail.
These parts all fit my CAR-15 so either way I can use the parts.

This is a copycat off the Sako counter-sniper rifle’s bipod. Sako charges around $750 just for the bipod. With that system, the action is unbelievable, by far the best feel, comfort, and smoothness of any rifle I’ve shot off a bipod. Because the rifle hangs in a sling under the top of the bipod, it is more stable. But we’re talking about a 20 lb rifle… I’ve never thought of trying this trick with the AF guns because it is so much lighter than my Sako was (sold it, never used it). If you think this feels good pointing straight, try getting a bipod with some panning ability 🙂 You’ll be amazed.

I got some good ideas from this link. A good resource to check out. No diaglog but you can generally see what’s going on.

Did you have to custom machine the leg bolts you show? Or did you find those retail somewhere?
Apparently the factory originals were too short?
I wasnt the first either ). Some guys used to put one on the top of a tri rail and put that on top of the frame.

There have been a few guys do it. Mostly people with an airforce bipod that don’t like the height. I think it looks neat. 🙂

Do you mean this one??? It’s an AF bipod with the mount reversed and redone to get the legs to clear… I remember a post about this a year plus back…
