Anyone try out the .22 Promethius 30 gr. pellets yet?
I saw them on AOA and was curious if anyone used them yet as they seem very interesting considering they are boat tailed. I was curious as to how the air would get behind them efficiently, and if so, would the fact that they are a boat tail enable them to stabilize above the speed of sound if fired from a rifle capable of such power????

I just got a box of 500 cp’s. I will try them out soon. Have you ever tried the heavier JSB 18.1’s ???
If you want to hear something really sad, those cheap ass 14.3 grain Crosman Premier HP’s in the tin of 500 group very well in my Scorpion.
I’ve always had good results from the 16 grain JSB exacts in that gun as well.

I’ve been trying to figure out what my BSA Scorpion likes best. So Far I’ve had best results with JSB jumbos 15.9 grains, and AOA Field target 16.0. They are both super accurate, but for the life of me I can’t see any difference in the pellets. AOA claims they weigh 16.0 gr. I don’t have a digital scale to weigh them, but they look identical to the jumbos.
I tried the Jumbo Heavies which weigh 18.1 gr. and my scorpion does not group as well with these heavier pellets. I was kind of disappointed by these test results because I want it to like the heaviest pellet possible that will fit in that multi-shot magazine…. I will do some more testing (chrony, different fill pressures, etc) before I rule them out 100%.
I also want to try those JSB JUMBO monsters 25.4 gr. They look like they will fit in the BSA magazine, have you tried any heavier pellets in your super 10???
I haven’t tryed those but I do use the promethius defiant pellets (large head size) in .22. My superten loves them, they are fantastically accurate. The only problem with them is they are a bit light and over distances of over 30 yards they start to move about a bit with wind.

BSA Barrels seem to prefer JSB Exact’s, Defiants (large size), H&N Field TT, RWS Superdomes, Crossman Premier and some like the Air Arms. John Bowkett the man who develops rifles for BSA uses JSB, Defiants and Superdomes when he blueprints guns.
My rifle won’t seem to group with anything but Defiant, JSB, H&N FTT and Crossman Premiers. As for heavier pellets I have only tryed the Logun Penetrators which were great out to about 30 yards as my gun is only 11.9lbs.
