Q:

Anyone using a .177 Cricket for FT?

If so, what pellets do you use and what kind of groups do you get?

I have the standard .22 wood stock uk ratworks spec so far impressed with it im going to do a full shot string on it this weekend and chrono it the test card it came with says its doing 11.4ftlbs and single figure fps full to empty we’ll know for sure on sat.

hi Kinoko…

for bench we are allowed to use a mag…but it is better to insert each pellet by hand so you can feel if there is any difference in the pellet…tight or loose….one or two shots can make a huge difference….

for FT and HFT….we are allowed to use mags…but…..rifles are not to be loaded or have a mag inserted between shooting lanes….it becomes tedious inserting and removing the mag every time you move….so single loading is a lot more popular….

cheers

thats a darn good shooting. do you guys allowed to use the repeater/mag or single shot tray?

Damn nice shooting Dallas.

originally, the Cricket didn’t shoot well at all…looking in the barrel i noticed tiny little ripples at the choke end…took it to the airgunsmith and asked him to machine and polish them out…the result was perfect….if i do my bit, it shoots ragged hole groups with JSB Heavy 10gr pellets at 50m…this Cricket is one of the first made…number 52 to be exact….

You mean the interior of the barrel was polished? How did you do that? What was the reason?

it is the standard .177…barrel was polished…i set the reg at 100bar…800fps…ES is around 5fps…with 8.44gr pellets…

Wow Dallas, I’d say you’ve got that little BP tuned up pretty good! Nice shooting!

800fps using JSB Exact 8.44gr 4.53mm pellets….

here is a 250 shot in light wind at 25m…..

a very versatile rifle….

Is it a compact or standard length?

Nice! It really is a versatile little rifle. Put a Hamster on it and go FTĂng in the morning, remove the Hamster for some BR in the afternoon and attach a designator for little casual night time Ratting.

And welcome to the TAG !
