AO VS RF VS SF
“side focus” appears to be gaining popularity over the tried and tested “adjustable objective” system. There is still a group who love the “rear focus” system though it has all but vanished. I was just wondering what is peoples preference and why?

Put your rifle with your scope up to your shoulder. While looking through the scope, reach up to where the adjustable objective bell is or would be and then reach to where the side focus is or would be.
Now think about this. With many side focus scopes you can get or make a side wheel that will allow you to adjust the focus with your thumb and not remove your left hand from supporting your rifle.
Side focus scopes tend to be more expensive, but the prices have really been coming down in recent years. You can find some really decent ones for under $150. For less than $500 you can buy some that our as good as any.
