AR15 grip
hi everyone
im a brazilian, so sorry for my english.
im new to airguns, and im going to buy my 1st PCP, it will be a condor.
so i was looking on the net for mods, and i liked this one:
but this mod. was depending on the grip, if i dont buy i wont do the mod.
and i was almost giving up because i couldnt find the grip, but one day it appeared to me!!!

but, i didnt know if i had to do some mod. on the grip for attach it on the condor, until i saw WalkonKing saying about this:

Looks great. I also hate a shelf on the grip for field work.
I did not know JB weld made a putty. I am going to go get some of that.
Mounting my grip was pretty straightforward.
First of all, I got one of the Tactical Deluxe grips from Brownell’s:

This grip looks like the one you’re looking to mount, Nierds.
Once I got it, I took off the standard grip and had a look. I needed to cut a flat area for the grip to touch the frame of the gun with. It also looked like I was going to get some pretty ugly gaps if I just relied on this method, and the grip would actually sit too high and not provide enough space for my hand. It also didn’t feel like there would be enough contact between the grip and the gun to provide a rigid connection.
Soooo, I got some of this stuff:

You knead the two-part mixture together, and then it acts like modeling clay until it cures. Once it has hardened, it’s easy to use a Dremel tool to cut away what you don’t need. I used a combination of building up and cutting down to get contours that looked like they would work.
The mod has worked fine for me for about a year now, including numerous trips to the the range and the squirrel woods around here in Minnesota. The only thing I can recommend is to use a different grip. I put a foxbat grip on my AR-15 and I think I would have been happier with that. I recently took off the adjustable shelf thing on my Talon because my hands no longer fit between the frame of the gun and the shelf when I’m wearing winter gloves. Now, without the shelf, I’m very happy with the ergonomics. I think the shelf helps when target shooting, but it sort of gets in the way when carrying in the field.

Love the Foxbat, has a thumbshelf and palm swell which will support your hand well. I’d choose it over the target model.
I just ordered a Foxbat grip from Ergo. The target grip was the one I wanted which had the palm shelf and it was more expensive but after talking to Ergo, they thought I would be happier with the Foxbat but that it was a matter of preference. It helped that the Foxbat was cheaper. I am getting the Suregrip version.
What are your thoughts? Anybody used both and have an opinion? I hope I am happy with it but I have seen both being used on this forum.

Foxbat:
The foxbat by ergo is a suburb looking grip, has to fit the hand well.

To get an AR15 grip to attach to the Condor you are going to have to buy the grip and see where you need to modify it. It might need to be altered to fit. People have done it. But it is not something people are volunteering to do.
So get a dremel tool and cut away.

What did you use for the camo, is that a neoprene or cloth tape?
