Q:

Are you ready?

Are you ready for the arrival of next shipment of EDguns? :8:

I am! All ready for my R3 Long .30 and R3M .25 to be here :5:

Now I just wish they get all assembled with care, go though customs without issues and cargo plane will be available quick.

Maybe few more weeks and they will be here. 😎

In the mean time … I am getting ready.

I’ve 12 tins of 44.75 gr. pellets and rings.
I’m stealing a scope off another rifle.
That will get me going.

I have been ready for months!

If it would have arrived here 2-3 months ago, it would have been golden! The weather here in central Illinois is turning cold, windy, rainy and just generally crappy. It is a good thing that I have a chrony setup in my basement and that I have a 50 yard underground range, 30 miles away, for testing.

I am NOT going to sit out in 20-30 degree weather, in the snow, with the wind howling and try to shoot 100 yard groups. Ain’t gonna happen!

I have an extra Hawke 4026 Tactical 6.5 – 20 X 42 scope that is just waiting for something for it to be mounted on!

For starters, I have 4 tins of JSB 44 grain and 4 tins of JSB 50 grain pellets, just to see which pellet the Matador likes best.

I am assuming that the 30 cal uses the same stock as the 25 long. If it does, I have a Harris bipod mounted on the 25 long stock and I will just switch actions.

I also plan on “borrowing” the breech blocks off of the 25, swapping them out with the 30 cal ones and see how the new 30 cal Matador adjusts to the couple of .257” barrels that I have waiting for it to arrive. I also have far more of my 52 and 55 grain .257” cast bullets on hand than I have 30 cal pellets.

I am not saying that I plan on keeping my new 30 cal as a .257” but: I have to give it a try. My Boss couldn’t be turned up far enough to shoot the cast bullets fast enough.

I can’t wait to see how the Matador does. I have all winter to play, adjust, tune and experiment with it.

Whenever the 30 cal Matador arrives: it is going to be interesting and a LOT of fun!

I am full of envy for the Scopes and pellets, i believe we are just an opposite member here, i have already got my Edgun but my pellets are dropping down i have only two tins, one of them i started using it, so i think all i have 700 -800 pellets, as i mentioned i have other brands but don’t like them, i will use them for my Mrod, i have plan with Oldgoat to send me around 8000 or 1000 pellets, but first i have to check and make sure for the importing issue, if they allow me then i will do it, if not i will try another way….

BTW; i like your scopes….

I picked up some H&N pellets just to try, the 22’s were always nice pellets but the 25’s I got looked like crap. As well as deformed skirts, most looked like bad molds, uneven skirt thickness and such. Very disappointed with their quality. Everything else is ready, except the bipod. As for the scope, just gonna scavenge one off my other rifles first. Hope to get one of the ones Ville recommended soon though.

Another necessity for the 30 cal Matador. 😀 Actually, anything other than side shots will destroy it eventually at 75 FPE. 😯 This is a different variety than my normal fodder but just as effective and squirrel proof too.

I use Magpul’s for the mounts. I got two Atlas bipods at SWFA when they had a 15% sale for $250 each.

I have 16 tins of the 30 cal JSB 44.75s and now 4 tins of the 50s that Ernest claims shot the best with the barrels he tested. I have had the Hawke Sidewinder 8-32×56 SR Pro for nearly a month now. Magpul mount. Vortex level. Scope covers. Rings.

Wheres a good online place to get an atlas bipod and what would be a good mount for it?

I have 12 tins of JSB .30 cal 44.7gr and a set of high rings. No scope yet but probably will go with a Hawke Sidewinder 6.5-20×42. I’ll probably order my scope, Atlas bipod and rail within the next few days. By the time the .30 arrive I’ll ready to go. Trying not to think of it’s pending arrival to much 🙄
