Yo Slim!
Your picture is of the M2R, a second generation Ataman. Seems they are in the process of improving :biggrinn: their product.
Hoot:
Atleast they have Finnish Military laminate as an “VIP” option.
I just have no glue what that is …
hi ernest, how did the accuracy testing go?

I think the Mutant is ugly. Not BC ugly but ugly neverteless.
Maybe it’ll mutate to a better looking gun soon 😉
hi ernest, your m2 ataman looks different to the one below – are there different stock options?
Its 8 LBS, feels vary solid and steady to aim, not like the shorty supper light Mutant. most solidly built BP I seen. taking her accuracy testing tomorrow.
original reg disk ((()))((()))((())) gave me 50fps ES that’s Russian hunting setup. 38 shots 945-845fps 240b-120b with kings

After changing the stack disk arrangement to (())(())(())(())() U.S. spec gave me 8fpe ES at 50 shots from 240b to 100b 899-991fps with kings
looks like a heavy gun
The barrel and air tube are not tighten down by the scope rail there are no screws /// look again !
Not like the cricket/Vulcan has 4 cap screws or the mutant has 12.
If you remove the orings the barrel and air tube can be totally Free floating.
The barrel are held and suspended by 2 set screw on the rear action— like FX 400
The air tube is screwed on to the action block and free to flex without affecting POI not like the Air tube that’s bolted tight on the mid scope clamp.
Shroud not clamp on–its supported by orings kinda free floating. barrel so easy to remove—just loosen 2 set screw and slide barrel out.
After bleeding air out just unscrew Air tube then slide out, large bleed screw bottom of action.
see scope weaver rail screwed on to this thick long plate that run all the way to the end of action–vary heavy duty plate and don’t think there’s any POI shifting issue. Tell you right now I don’t like high scope rail and the ATAman has one.
Oh okay. When you say that the barrel is held by two set screws, are you referring to the screws on the rail assembly? (on the other side of the gun?) Is the barrel tightened down by the scope/airtube clamp or on the action?

Yeah, I didn’t catch that initially. Wow, I’m not too fond of the rail clamping onto the shroud instead of directly onto the barrel like how it is on the Cricket and Mutant. But at any rate, if it can prove itself in the accuracy and consistency department that’s all that matters. Please tell us how it shoots when you get the chance. I know you’re really busy though.
Earnest,
You just showed us pictures, Tell us how it stacks up to the Cricket, Vulcan, and mutant, ? Please.
Mike
Thanks for the photos Ernest! The Ataman looks quite chunky. What is the weight of it unscoped?
