Q:

ATN 390 or ATN MK410 ???

If anyone has owned either of these scopes, can you give me your impression?

I know about the magnification and NV scopes…so that’s not a problem.

I am just curious if the MK410 is so great it’s worth the extra $125, over the Paladin 390?

I actually tried both at the Sportsman Guide in part of the their warehouse with the lights off. I didn’t notice any difference over my Bushnell Night Vision Monocular (Gen 1) on night vision capabilities which needs IR Illuminator to see with no moonlight. But I did think the 410 was worth the difference in price, it was a brighter and sharper. I didn’t get either one, I ended up getting the Pulsar N550 off my friend and I thought it was better in the sense that you can use a 940nm IR Infrared illuminator which as no glow. Both these ATN scopes can’t see this wavelength effectively. The main tipping point to the Pulsar, I got for $1K and you can use at during the day with no issues.

I’d advice against atn. Built quality isn’t great. The Yukon brand is pretty well built. Nvrs for example is a nice unit. As performance goes they all use the same simple gen1 tube.

That one is pretty decent too.

Best to compare then side by side under the same conditions.
