Attaching a block to the barrel (near side)
Hi Gents,
I’ve got a few ideas for a design that might work for feeding pellets to our birds via mechanical action.
It involves the machining of a 2 part block, one part would need to be attached to the exposed end of a the barrel in the breech pretty damned well.
Is this an incredibly stupid concept? Is there any precedent to attaching a block to the end of an airgun barrel as a mod? Would it be possible to make a fit flush enough to not disrupt the pellet in the block to barrel transition?

This is a basic sketch of what I’m mulling:
tube on left is the barrel, the block would need to attach to it so that the entire assembly would fit in the space between the barrel and the valve.
Hammer, spring, breech mechanism, all removed. Valve would be electronically controlled, connected to the port seen at the bottom right of the pic.
The drum shaped bit would hold pellets facing outwards, rotating it would line up the next pellet with the bore. The spindle in the center has a port facing forward only.
Lots missing here, its just a rough scribbling of the concept. The most current design involves a cocking lever that pulls the entire assembly back, rotates the drum. When you push the cocking lever forward, it then pushes the drum forward onto an o-ring, creating a positive seal.
I am curious to see what kind of tolerances, air-leaks would be involved in a simple metal on metal system like this one though.
