Automatic Touch Probe

After wrangling with some computer issues I finally got it working. Bought the Touch probe and the Macro’s are from Hossmachine.info. All I had to do was connect two wires and change some settings.

Controller Board with LPT breakout connections for the two wires.

The probe has three prongs which rest on 3 pairs of bearings soldered in series. When the probe hits something it tilts and breaks the connection which the computer reads as a contact.

That combined with the Macro from Hoss and it can auto edge find, corner find and center find…

You just put the probe somewhere close and hit the button to let the machine figure it out.

I could have made a probe from an old screwdriver (and I still might) but that type of probe wouldn’t work with delrin, this one does which is why I chose it.
