Q:

Awesome day of long distance shooting/pesting

Had another awesome day of long distance shooting/pesting. I just wanted to say thank you to ironcross (Matt) for hosting this incredible day of shooting and opportunity to take our guns and really stretch them out and see their full potential. And thanks for coming down Renval. It was great to shooting with you!!
We arrived at about five in the morning and got to the ranch a little bit before the sun came out. I tried calling for a couple of gobblers but came up with nothing. Instead proceeded to start shooting squirrels. It took awhile before the sun started to come out from behind the clouds but, as soon it did the there were plenty of GS for all of us. Even though I was a little trigger-happy and tried to shoot everything in sight , sorry Matt and Renval. 🙄 …won’t happen again. 🙂
I know it’s very difficult to believe, in fact I wouldn’t have believed it myself unless I was there but to see shots that were made that day was incredible to say the least!! (For an AG) The farthest shot was made by Renval at a wopping 134 yards on a bunny!!! The farthest attempted shots were hundred and 170 yards on ground squirrels but with the wind at $15-$25 an hour gusting from 15-25 mph. No confirm hits at those distances but they were always just a few inches or a foot away!!
We used a custom Ernest .30 cricket, .25 std cricket (Ernest tuned) and Renval’s amazing collection of AG. Sorry can’t quite remember the details of your AG’s. Please chime in. His custom Air Force .25 condor, Edgun .30 and cricket .25!!! Well here’s the pictures. Thanks again guys!!!

It was really nice to meet you guys! You Al and Matt are great guys! And don’t worry about shoot shooting all the critters, to me just to be in the outdoors is more than enought, the shooting/hunting part is a bonus! 😉
Hey Matt thank you for sharing your spot and don’t forget to give them a brake, wait a month or so and the pups are gonna start coming out! At the mean time start asking the wives for a weekend off! :4:

Already did Ren, just need to talk to Al and see when he might be able to go and then finally coordinate with you.

Sounds great! just let me know in advance so we have time to plan it, may Ernest can joy us!!!!! 😀

Man I miss San Diego hilly landscape, that’s where I go after a long deployment back in 1983-88. two of my tune BP and a 1377 on the same hill—>WOW, I would have brought Al’s Tuned .30 Std Edgun.

Have more Fun next time Guys—-> 🙁

Yeah Ernest, your guns sure do get around 😉

and not to take away from these high performance AG but, I brought along a custom crossman 1377 by Ernest. Everything is custom on this crossman from the free floating barrel, LDC, valve and even trigger. The only thing that was stock is the frame and air tube! lol I shot the second bunny with that. Of course, I didn’t take it at 130+ yards with it but only about 15 yards!!

this is the view from the target. A close up view to as well. 127 yards!!!

This was shot in Northern san diego county.

the view from my farthest shot at 127 yards

Just awesome day and beautiful shooting area!! Where is it in CA somewhere ?
