back in the saddle again
in 2017 my club moved away from my area and i gave up shooting until recently. Too many hours in the day at 70. So I came back here and read for a while and looked at Tony’s site (and of course the YOUTUBE stuff).
My Talon .22 cal ( stock setup ) had some dust on it and all of my original data was gone but with a full tank of air new beginnings were in order.
At 2300 to 2150 lbs and PW at 3.8 with 35* shots ( topping off after each 10) I have>>> AVG= 784fps Range= 36fps std dev= 12 ( 16% of the avg).
* [Several shots did not register on the chrono.] The range or spread of velocities seems a little high. All shooting was done at one setting.
There is an EPDM and nylon washer ( both apx. 1mm thick) behind the ” top hat ” and the there is next to no play between the closed bolt and the ” top hat “.
Chair gun suggests a zero at 39.9 (near zero at 24 yds) [with a .5 in kill zone from 21 to 43 yards] for Crossman domed ultra magnum pellets at 14.3 gr. The BC that i am using is.024 and the 4x16x25 scope is 3.375 above the bore. My interest is fun target shooting and a little squirrel and crow eradication.
Since there are about 40 pages of posts between when I stopped and now and there may be info and improvements about which I don’t know, how about some evaluation of this data and any advice?
