Bad grouping
Hi, I have a gunpower stealth .22 great rifle but for some reason lately , cannot get it to shoot consistenly ( to be honest it’s all over the place)
I have changed springs , hammers. But still cannot get a good grouping, say 3 inch within 25yards. Anybody got ideas!

get the rifle back to original and see if the problem still persist…..then change one thing at a time and check precision….do so until you find the culprit ….you can also do it backwards….removing one upgrade at a time until accuracy has been attained !
Oh, that’s soooooooo your silencer clipping!!!!!
revans, turn your shroud 1/4 turn and test. If it is still clipping, turn 1/4 turn
again and test.. .. Good chance that could solve the clipping..
Thanks for that! I have changed the silencer recently, to keep the noise down, can only think that’s it’s the new silencer, should try some testing without the silencer to the annoyance of my neighbours , everything else has been changed or ungraded, it’s very frustrating and feel like wrapping the rifle round a tree sometimes, but I can remember when it shoots well, oh good times!
Clipping is my vote also. A few thousandths interference is all it takes to produce what you are describing. If the barrel bushings are off center due to being smaller than the inside diamater of your frame, this can help to push the barrel off center. Then if there is several thousandths difference between the barrel and the inside diamater of the bushings, this will further push the barrel off center. When these tolerences add up, it produces clipping. The answer is to buy custom bushings from someone like Tony at TalonTunes, or enlarge the diameter of the holes in your baffles and endcap.
If you don’t have a chronograph, you really should buy, or borrow one. They are invaluable.
Got to be clipping, its the only way you would get THAT bad groups (Unless Mam was shooting :))
I bet I could cut a barrel with a hack saw, crown it with a 10mm drill bit and get better groups than that.
I suggest anybody with an airgun in the UK get a chrony.

Don’t say you havn’t got a chrony…….. 😉
If you havn’t, its a good place to start.
3″ is crazy inaccurate at 25 yards, something major is up.
Silencer/shroud clipping? Check exit hole/inside for pellet marks.
Whats the tophat setting?
Stock hammer and spring?
What pellets you using?
Have you dry lubed the hammer?
You really do need a chrony.
