Q:

baffles for a .75" I.D. shroud??

has anyone designed or can design a baffle system (multi-piece, or single piece) for a shroud that is .75″ I.D.? im designing an Mrod type barrel shroud, and was thinking about ways to improve the sound deadening of that type of design. i want neighborhood friendly sound levels- i.e. mouse fart! there’s no real length restriction as of right now…Im using a 22″ bsa barrel, hopefully machined down to crosman O.D. specs, in .22. using a factory discovery valve, so maybe 900 fps… figure on 800-850 fps in real life. thoughts?

i was thinking about that “no length restriction” thing… i have a 22″ barrel, but possibly 2″ of that will be taken up by the breech…so that leaves 20″. the length of the shroud is 24″… dont want to go over that unless i REALLY have to… so 4″ left. okay, now…thoughts?? ill go up to 5″ in front of the muzzle if i have to, im not sure of the shroud end cap length yet, so we’ll leave it at 5″ for now… okay, NOW, thoughts??
