Bagged a rabbit at 3:00am
Well I’ve been trying to catch a rabbit for some time now but things just didn’t go my way…if it wasn’t the kids screaming and making tons of noise, scaring the rabbits away…it would be my window squeaking when I opened it to take my shot….
So I added a little wd40 to my window to shut up that annoying squeal…so the next time I opened it the damn thing wouldn’t chase the little buggers away…..mind you that the rabbits on my property hand out only feet from my house at night, and it’s soo bright at night with the moonlight I don’t need anything to see them…
So I tried last night to catch one but it was too windy and none came out so I hit the sack being that I had 3 o’clock alarm set to go to work the next day. Well low and behold I wake up at 3am for work and walk my tired ass downstairs and take a peak out the window……and guess who I see… You got it!….well first thing was to open my window quietly without scaring the shit out of him, so I peeled the window back very gently no squeaking What so ever from the window so the next thing was my rifle was ready from the night prior so I picked up the rifle settled down took aim and puff…
1 shot to the head from my cricket and he was down for the count…
Now the hardest part of this whole ordeal was trying to get to him….like I said the rabbit was only about 10 feet from the house BUT!!! There’s about 4 feet of snow in my yard so I was up to my waist in snow…mind you I needed to catch a 4am bus which at that time was about 3:30 already..lol….but regardless I wasn’t going to leave him out there….so I grabbed him and loaded his little behind in a cooler filled with ice and went on my way….

I’m sorry guys but this is the only pic I have of the rabbit…being that I had to gut him real quick cause I needed to go to work… But as soon as the food is done ill post pics of my great dinner
Yea I have them but when I got home today I got hit with the only flu symptoms..ill post up some pics of the dinner later on.

I had taken some practice shots earlier yesterday to pin point where my impact point will be so that when I had the chance to shoot I knew were to aim.
In the snow at that time of morning sounds unpleasant alright. Good work!
A lot of people who hunt miss the “cherry” shots because they practice far distances and don’t know the holdover for shots way in from their zero. You obviously had a pretty good idea where to aim!

Now your talking. I decided to make rabbit one way and that is throw it into crock pot and make some rabbit stew. Works great. Hope you don’t get flu we had over here. It’s a beast!
