Ballistics exercise.
21gr .22 pellet leaves muzzle at 1000fps, arrives at target at 700fps, 10mph side-wind, how much would you need to aim off to the side? How do you calculate it? Where’s the cheat-card at? 😆

I use the same method WOK does. By the time I look up impact on a chart, the damn target has run away.
However I have a slight advantage.
The Hawke I use has the SR12 reticle. 10mph wind aiming points are built in.

As fatboy says, use a bit of Kentucky windage 😉

Chairgun2 includes a windage graph as well as a wind speed calculator.
Since I can not measure wind speed I take a shot. See where it went use some Kentucky Windage and shoot again. 😉
I found this program a few days ago. It is free and installs and runs OK under Vista. Help program needs a download from Microsoft to run under Vista.

I have not used this, but it has input for windage.
Thanks chaps, but I already have Chairgun and there’s nothing for windage in it. I have the full registered version too, so it’s not that I’m missing an extra feature.

I was just interested to see the effect on the pellet of various wind-speeds at various ranges. Not a lot as it happens. 🙂
