Baracuda Hunter Extreme Initial report.

I just received some Baracuda Hunter Extreme (here on out called B.H.E.) from P.A. They are the pellets that look like one could use with a Phillips screw driver.

I was shooting the B.H.E. from my .25 Talon SS with high flow valve, stock hammer with the extra barrel weight. All AF stock parts.

My target was a duct seal (2-1/2″-3″) lined box, from 25 yards away. Tank pressure was an estimated 2800 PSI. Powerwheel set at ten. No clue as to how fast pellets were going. It was late and daylight was quickly fading away. no time to chrony.

I would say the B.H.E. go into the duct seal about three quarters, to seven eighths of an inch. Expanion reminds me of the crow magnums only more uniformed when squashed. You can still see the groove from where the screw driver was jammed into tip. 😆

I think these would be deadly to almost any varmint. I would love to cut the grooves deeper into the head and try then probable get fragmentation.

I shot a few extra B.H.E to see how they group. I did not readjust the scope, and was in a seated position with my elbows resting on my knees. These are the best i could do with daylight fadin fast.
These are two groups. one has eight the other three.

Here is a before and after.

I too noticed that the B.H.E.are a little on the loose side compared to the Baracuda.

I think it is the pellets because it was only a hand full from the tin that seated very loose. Seemed like last time i tried grouping them every group would have a loose fitting pellet and it was always a flier. They grouped 1″-.750″ at 40 yds so they would be fine to 50 yds for pesting but i like to stretch my shots with .25 every chance i get.

😯 IDP, makes me wonder if its the LEAD IN of the barrel or the pellets.

When i bolt them into my Rapid from its magazine, they’ve always “FELT” the same as they cycle. Plus, the accuracy rivals that of the Predators in my gun. So i have a somewhat cheaper alternative to the Preds. BUT THE PREDS THEY ARE NOT…..lol!

Maybe i was pushing them to fast for top accuracy. I do know i had some that almost fell into the barrel when i put them in so i do have a few bad ones in my tin and i know that accounted for some of the accuracy problem. I wonder how good they would do sorted for me.

I use THEM and the JSB’s and the Predators in my Rapid 25 set at 50 FPE.

THEY WORK! And they are very accurate at the level i’m pushing them at.

At 50 FPE, they shoot waaaaaay better than the Kodiaks do. I’ve killed a couple of jack rabbits and a ground squirrel and they put the smack down for sure. kinda like a cross between a kodiak and crow magnum when it comes to impact.

NICE REPORT

Don’t ya just love it when things go S-P-L-A-T- 😈

I tried these as well in my .25 condor ss. I really wanted them to have good groups but they were not great at 40 yds. If that was my max distance i would have no problem shooting ground squirrels with them but sometimes i am going out to 100 yds and i dont think i would get more than a 25% hit rate at that distance. I could still pop a coon at 40 yds just to see how they do

unfortuneatly wad cutter pellets do not seem to do well past a certain point.
