barrel bushing size
Hello can anyone tell me what the size a barrel bushing ? the diameter ?
Is there a drawing of it here?

Here is a thought too. Knurl the 1.0″ bushing to make them bigger. If you made it to big start sanding back down till you get to the inside size of your tube. O-ring grooves too if you have an “SS” version.
This is old but has anyone tried nylon set screws? Won’t they be strong enough to hold the barrel in place? It seems that the only pressure is the pressure adjusting spring and the shear pressure would be low as the gap inbetween the bushings and the frame is so small. The barrel won’t get dinged that way.
Just pulled the Bushings from my Condor.
They were slightly under expected size to fit perfectly in the frame.
The barrel would not center in end cap 100%, visualy noticeable.
The factory endcap is also on the list for remodel.
Factory Bushing Size:
O.D: 1.0100″ / 25.65mm
I.D: 0.6290″ / 15.98mm
WIDTH: 0.5010″ / 12.72mm
Would like to make them a bit tighter/wider.
Barrel O.D’s
Largest point at breach 0.6270″ / 15.91mm
Smallest point at muzzle 0.6150″ / 15.62mm
Front Bush Location Barrel O.D 0.6250″ / 15.88mm At factory mount point
Rear Bush Location Barrel O.D 0.6255″ / 15.89mm
Personally would measure and custom fit bushes if replacing.
As RiffRaff mentioned The I.D of Frame would possibly differ between production runs.
The barrel looks to be tapered 24″ LW AF Factory Barrel.
If you really tighten the locating grub screw’s that hold the barrel to the frame 2 x long 2x short, they will bite into the steel barrel causing swelling. This can make the bushes hard to remove even when the grub screws are removed. The cups on the grubs bite and cause this.
Hope this gets me some brownie points.

Frame I.D. will vary from gun to gun. For mine, I use bushings that run 1.009″ and they fit very snug.
If you have to, wrap bushing with scotch tape and check the fit. Soon you will find what diameter is correct for your rifle.
I just vented the bushing on a Talon SS, and measured the ID as 1.005. I did not check the bushing itself, but I would have guessed 1.004. However, I should also say that I was not doing anything that required that level of accuracy, so I was not worrying about thousandths, so that is probably a +/- .005 measurement.
I also realized that PVC pipe has an OD of 1.04x and will not fit 🙂
Do the smaller bushings with the o ring help with the rife torque problem by making the barrel semi free floating?

Bushings od. 1.006″ should get ‘er done.
A real pain in the keester as 1″ stock will not work.
Mind you a fella made some bushings with orings that would get over that trouble.
