Q:

Barrel length vs accuracy

Does a longer barrel give better accuracy?

I’ve been looking a lot at the Edgun Leshiy with 350mm barrel. That is shy of 13,8″. And here are some other Short barreled guns:

Edgun Leshiy: 350mm – 13,8″
Edgun Lelya: 295mm – 11,6″
Mutant Short: 280mm – 11″

Does this make the Leshiy the Most accurate of the bunch??? Or how does it work?

I am talking about the guns accuracy here and not the shooter, so human error is ignored. Pretend it is in a vice if that helps.

For those who don’t know : That posé gave the late artist Prince the inspiration to write the song ” Sexy Motherfucker “.

That’s true. And my life is Short in general. I turned 20 yesterday, congratz to me right? right? no? Ok….

Twenty ?? That´s for amateurs 😉
I myself turned 48 yesterday. I´ll soon be allowed to wear red leather speedo´s and yell at the neighbours without much notice from the Police department.

dont forget ville. you will also be able to look forward to shooting your crazy neighbors chickens, displays of lude conduct without recourse, and last but not least getting that dark sunbird tan and looking like a bronze statue in the sun

So accuracy should be the exact same on a Leshiy no matter if you choose the 250mm or 350mm barrel?

quote rkr:

Barrel length is irrelevant to accuracy as far as mechanicals go. If the bullet leaves the barrel straight it will travel straight, as was shown by that FWB target pistol where the barrel was spiral shaped. In real life the bullet spends more time in longer barrel which makes it a bit more likely that a shot gets pulled. In airguns that’s about 1ms / 10″ of barrel legth.

Yes, longer barrel has more power potential or uses less air but it is no more accurate. The shortest I have in an airgun is a 8″ barrel and it does 1/2″ groups at 50 yards. I once took a seagul with a head shot at 120M using 10″ barrel so it’s not the length that is a problem.

Trouble with waiting is you could do that forever!

james is correct here. how long did people wait for the first edguns? i think there at one point was a year or longer waiting list for the r2m if memory serves me here.

id like to see production runs start of the beluga

 some are a glutton for punishment …….. and like to learn the harden way …… even I TRIED IT.

I/we got other guns I/we can shoot in the meantime, SO WHY RUSH ? :winkn:

Baita/beta testers wanted :biggrinn:

I was speaking of PCPs in general. They are nearly all bad in the first cut. FX is certainly no different. Of course one might consider that part of the fun. If you own a few other working PCPs then it may be an adventure. lol :suprisedn:

I hardly think it’s going to be rubbish anyway! What, maybe 5% of owners MAY have a small broken part after thousands of shots and will kick up a fuss online. Then all the armchair airgun buyers (who’s Mrs won’t let them spend the money) have the perfect excuse not to buy a gun they probably had no intention of buying anyway.

Life is toooo short … my bro cricket…don’t spend your time in waiting since you are just Ed’s neighbor… in case if something wrong happen… you can directly send back the gun to Ed within the same day … you can just deal with Ed directly… if i were you i would buy it without any hesitate…

Oh… BTW: Cricket…congrats my bro… Happy birthday… wish you all success with all PCPs

History proves usually 100% of the first guns have the same issues. The Edgun 30 first gen is a perfect example. This is the rule. Don’t waste your time and money. You become the beta test site.

I’m not buying the first ones, I just like to figure it all out ahead of time so when it is a safe purchase i know what I want 😉
