Best high press gas/setup to use?
Assuming one is starting from scratch…
What is the best high pressure air setup to get?
SCUBA with K-valve
SCUBA with DiN valve, 200 or 300bar?
SCBA fiberglass or CF
Nitrogen
Looking at low cost, easy filling of master tank, and decent number of fills before pressure drops in tank requiring refill.
I haven’t dealt with dive shops, so I don’t know what fill pressure they will do, or if they require a current SCUBA cert to get a fill.
Up until now I have been using only CO2 w/ paintball adapter (I have a 20# tank of CO2), but the itch for more power is tempting me.
Portability isn’t a huge concern at this tiime.

Your post in the quick reference section is what sparked this idea. It seems like using high pressure nitrogen would be more popular, except the portability issue.
If portability isn’t a concern, and if it’s available in your location, I think a high pressure industrial nitrogen cylinder is the best bang for the buck, especially if you’re filling large tanks that like 3K psi fills like the Talon/Condor, and you do a lot of shooting. I fill from a 4500 psi, 443 cu. ft. cylinder, gas is about $60 and tank rent is $11 a mo. Each cylinder lasts about 6 months, and I shoot a lot. Because of where I live, scuba or scba tanks are either not an option, or really expensive to get filled, $12 a fill for scuba plus a 100 mile round trip. Now if you have a lower pressure gun, then scuba tanks or even a pump might be a reasonable alternative. I cobbled together my own fill station, but Joe Brancato makes a nice setup for the industrial cylinders. I think the main reason it’s not more popular is that not all gas suppliers handle the high pressure cylinders, and of those that do, it seems that a lot of them can’t be bothered to deal with the 1 tank every six months type of customer. Too bad, because it’s worked out really well for me. Later.
