Q:

best kill

After seeing pablouks topic of “whats your age” it got me thinking.
So thought id open a topic of peoples best kill of shot?
So everyone, whats ya best kill/shot?
Mine was when i was bout 14, me and a bunch of friends were messing around with my bsa cadet, shooting at about 60 yards.
My friend lewis got a lightbulb tied a piece of string to it and nailed it to a post, he then started spining it till is was spinning on its own.
All my buds wer like “theres no way youl hit it” blah blah blah,
So i lined it up with nothing but the iron sights, exhaled and “smash”
needless to say i was well chuffed and my mates were very impressed.
So all braging rights erned whats ya best?

A jack rabbit about 50-60 yards out in full gallop away from us at an angle, me with my trusty benji pump rifle in .177 loaded with darts. Shot him in the spine and me and my buddy had to run him down for what seemed like a mile so I could put him out of his misery. Cut the dart back out of his spine as a keepsake. Another time I used my mini-14 to catch up to a full gallop coyote same as the squirrel only this one took about 6 shots for me to get the right amount of lead on him. Opened up his head like a convertable. Recently, Cyg shot a squirrel at a great distance right in the noggin. .25’s are the SHI$$

I split an arrow with another arrow once, no fancy sights or anything, just a a bare longbow. And I did throw an axe the length of the yard (about 4x my usual distance) and stick it into a head sized block of wood. No spectacular condor shots yet…

Not much of a hunter but I’ll never forget my first kill.

I’m maybe 12. Sittin in the backyard shooting tin cans off the wood pile with an old crossman pumper bb gun. Dad’s cutting the grass. I always tried to get a last shot off when I heard the mower come around the side because I had to wait a couple minutes (safety and all) while he navigated the side of back yard. He’s always give me thumbs up as he rounded the corner if he saw a can fall. After 10 or so passes, as I’m shooting at the last standing can, I shoot, hit it, look up as Dad comes around the corner expecting a thumbs up but instead I get a a look of pure evil as the lawn mower shuts down and dad is stumping over – grabs me by the hair to drag me down to the wod pile. Yelling “WHY”, “you promised you’d never”, “you’ll never use that rifle in the yard again”. Took me a good 5 minutes to figure out what he what ticked him off and another 5 minutes before he realized that yes he did see the can fall…… that fact that the bb bounced off and killed a robin that was sitting on the fence post really and truelly was an accident.

i was laughing my ass of reading this, i could picture it perfectly lol at first i thouhgt u had shot the mower wire lol, when i was little i was snooping about my grandads shed and i found thas old aunderlever air rifle, to load it you had to twist and pull the barel out to pit a pelet in, i had no pelets so i found a nail that sat in the barel pointed it at a bird perched on the roof thinking theres no way il hit it but to my horror, down it went and fell in my nans garden, i chucked that gun away so fast and jus stood around like what? i ent dun nuthing. lol good times

wow, there’s some good shots there, I shot the wings off a fly at 2ft

i shot a blue bottle fly at about 15 ft but it was pure luck, i said “check this, il shoot the fly” jus messin but pure luck guided the pelet strait to it lol

I’m not shitting, moving truck, running rabbit, dark. I lead that fucker and pulled one off when he was behind some brush.
Buddy ask if I got him and I said yes, of course he didn’t believe me.

well im a pretty good dove hunter with my shot gun…but during the off season one time at my farm my friends told me that anyone can kill a dove in flight with a shotgun but not with a single bullet…so we were shooting doves on trees and so they all flew off…one flew by about 30 yards, pretty up high too, so i aimed and fallowed through with my benjamin sheridan break barrel…bang! that dove came down like an airplane…i was pretty amazed too 😛 they told me i couldnt do it again…my parents came by and scared one off flying straight towards me…bang! came down with back flips…well thats gotta be 2 of my best kills and best memory of hunting…

around 35 yards on a squirrel (my guns a piece of shit)

I hit 15 golf-ball size soup bones w/ my .25 Talon at 85 yards….
With my Diana 350, I nailed a squirrel out of a tree at a little over 90 yards…

i shot a small bird at 80 yards with a daisy 880 when i was younger i had to use about 2 feet of hold over and i was using bbs, it was luck. i also shot a carp with my 9mm ruger hand gun, they spon in the rapids in the river at my grandpa’s property, just went to the river and shot one from 10 feet
