Best Method for attaching Harris Bipod to Air Force guns?
I want to attach a Harris Bipod to my guns, what’s the best method of putting a sling stud on it, preferably with in 10 inches from the muzzle?
Will the Air Force Sling kit work or is there a better way?

This is the dovetail to weaver adapter I used to mount my Harris bi-pod and YHM-638. I also use these to mount my scope with weaver rings. I love the low profile and light weight! I have purchased two sets from this seller and they ship quickly. There are similar adapters from stores or other sellers if these run out. This is just currently the best price I’ve found.

If it’s just as good for half the price then it’s twice the bang for the buck and I’m interested! Anyone else use one of these clones? Same mounting issues as the Harris?
If ya gotta have “real” Harris, then ya gotta have it.
Otherwise, WallyWorld sells a Harris clone called “Rocky Mount” or “Rock Mountain”, or similar.
Same bang for the buck about half the cost.

Which Harris bipod are ya’ll using? Any reason not to go for the L or LM series with the swivel? I’ve never used a bipod.
Finding the YHM-638 is easy enough, but anyone have a suggestion for the lowest/lightest dovetail to weaver adaptor? Maybe that’s not fair, so if you have one that you find to be low enough and light enough please tell me about that.

The length is 2 and 5/8″. It’s the same length as the mount on the bipod and this adapter will give you a solid mount. Just get a really low dovetail to weaver adapter.
That mount looks much meatier than the AF stud adapter. Varminter, do you know the length of this mount? Found a few sources for it to include the manufacturer however no info about length is provided…..
Search Google for “YHM-638”. It’s an adapter for the harris bipod. You’ll also need a dovetail to weaver adapter.
Similar to the other guys but I used a machine screw stud with a nut and washer and mounted it to my fore end grip.
Indeed. That’s exactly what I did; and it works great.
A big wood screw
The standard stud just needs a hole drilled in the forend,use a drill a bit smaller in diameter than the stud thread,the studs are self tapping.
I’ve got wood grips on my Stealth so this was easy. 🙂

So as not thread a new hole in the frame, I attached mine forward of
the fore-grip screw by installing a swivel stud there. I subsequently use
the attachment on the bottom of my Harris for my forward sling swivel.
Works great 4 me!

i jusr drilled the maple grip i have and installed a swivle stud
i have the rock mount bipod from walmart
i used my 30 % discount on it and i think it is 1.5 x bang for your buck lol
not quite 2 times but it is decent imo i had a harris befor a lil more solid but the rock mount is pretty decent
