best option for quieting down a .25 besides NC?
I have a .25 “long” WST cricket and just has the stock shroud atm.
Was planning on getting one of neils 2piece shroud combos for backyard shooting but he’s got a 4 week backlog atm and the cricket was sort of an impulse buy due to a good price…
Just wondering what others have used besides NC shrouds and how effective they are compared..?
Btw I am in the US so rather deal with someone in the states and who isn’t too backlogged either.but if there is a good UK machinist who ships here feel free to throw in his work.
Also include pics of your shrouds if you can 🙂 I prefer a regular black look like the factory or even silver over the carbon fiber look but will take one if I have to, as long as it gets the job done. This is only for the yard so neighbors doon’t freak out.will probably use the factory shroud when hunting. So length of a 2pie e isn’t a problem either.
Was talking to roy katsen about some work and he said he can make either a 1 or 2 piece for me both for reasonable prices and says that his own cricket is super quiet now but just curious about other options.

Seriously : You should see his work with anodized parts milled to exact tolerances and nice CF housings.
Well – maybe he´ll do them for the buying Public one day but that won´t probably be any cheap stuff.

yeah I know all about Huggets lol. Didn’t know they made them for crickets though, where did you get YOUR ldc combo? i saw you post that a while back before I had a bug.
Was hoping for someone legit in the US but if they’re UK or beyond! that’d still work fine as long as shipping isn’t a problem..I shot it a bunch today and actually noticed it was quieter than my .22 Edgun -_- And the Bug is shooting a bit hot for me at ~930 FPS w Kings (going to dial down when i get a chance, been so busy)
But yea Ville if you can hook me up with your maker, if he sends to the US (willing to pay extra) as I like the 2 -piece style. but Like i said Roy Katsen was willing to do either styles and both for cheap. but never bought an LDC/shroud off him. only smaller machined parts so I dont know if its cheap bc of the quality compared to others or bc he’s giving me a deal :rofl:
Jokeing aside nick (nutshot) is a great bloke legendary in tne uk for his silencers / shrouds i was offerd a hw100 and £600 for my last shroud and barrel he made me in .20 on his forum but as they were giffted off him for moderating his forum didnt feel right selling it even tho he said i was crazy not to take it a great bloke and pleasure to call friend :6:

Blodnob nutshots partner in crime makes em but there fair bit longer but very affective he will make to your specs if u ask check out my .25 wst tac thread that has his shroud on but sv is right nutshots are top quality had afew off the little hairy fecker over they years both mods and shouds on rapids / mfs
There´s one Guy (or “Bloke” in UK language) who´s virtually an Artist when it comes to these things. He goes by the name Nutshot in several European Forums. Unfortunately he doesn´t make shrouds nor silencers for the buying public but he makes them for himself and for his Friends as a Hobby . Even if you one wants to buy and pay for his bits he says : ” I´m not making these for money – it´s more of a Hobby of mine . Go away and stop bothering me” :rofl:

So yeah. as great as Mr. Nut sounds I dont think I’d be able to convince him to make me one and ship to the US either. So if theres another viable alternative similar to a Clague shroud, that’d be perfect.
Wasn’t someone using a ParisD setup on their Bug? Is he a UK “bloke”?!?
