Q:

Best way to gain 15fps

What is the best way to increase the velocity by 10-20 fps on a cricket if the HS is not enough? Decrease valve spring or increase reg pressure?

You did not forget for your thread ? http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=33876 🙂 Dimensions ??? hm

the best way for me is to use 16 gr instead of 18 gr………………… :biggrinn:

Thanks guys. Will do more accuracy tests before touching the reg. I will soon recieve my scope cam so I can analyze the pellets in this speed

So it is close to max you lightened the stem and made the regulator volume larger to gain some more velocity. I might stick with 870 fps if I was just looking for best accuracy. Then again increasing the reg volume might allow you to take some pressure off of the HST. I have all metal stems now because those combo ones broke.

I think Octavius touched on this a while back…Reduce the valve stem diameter and drill some holes in the regulator spacer. Worked for my Compact.

I have the .177 and shot the 10.34s at 900 fps and it still has some HST left at the factory reg setting. I wonder if someone with the .22 knows what the max velocity is realistically on the .22. I would hate for you to attempt a reg adjustment only to find out it is already maxed although I suspect it isn’t.

It’s a compact. the 18gr are shooting 870ish at maxed out hst but I noticed a major shot count saving of not maxing out the HST so I want to get it a bit over 880 and then lower HST to shoot 880

Run forward as you are shooting. 😆

If you are maxed on HST you have to adjust the reg. If the valve spring is properly set it could be problematic to lower it. Ask me how I know. If the gun is already set hot 20 fps could be a lot. What FPS is at with what pellet. Which gun is it (compact or standard).
