Q:

big bore .45

I just wanted to share my experience with Brent at extree big bore airguns. I ordered a gun and shot it for a few dozen times.
First awesome air gun, awesome service and a nice guy. He makes each gun to your requests (within limits of course)
I asked for 2 or 3 major power shots in .45. He did a great job and personally took it home to shoot it and dial it in!
I forgot to close the bolt and pulled the trigger, the gun was fine excpt for the oring! my fault entirely!
I called Brent and he talked me through the smple repair and where to get an o ring!
Yes he picked up the phone took the time to explain everything!
he was great the rifle is awesome

Got to save my $$ for the .50! lol
Yes I only have spoken to Brent and he is a wealth of information and a no nonsense kind of guy!
Quality product at a decent price and no 3 year wait!

Brent and Al are both straight shooters when it comes to build quality and assistance. Love my 45 Extreme and find these numbers that Brent posted are very close to right on with mine also.

I difer to Brent who knows a hell of a lot more than me about the gun. lol
I will do somemore shooting soon. I am on a limited supply of air so I will have to make a few trips to the range.
I fill my gun then top off a 4500 psi Guppy tank. this would be fine for hunting but sucks for range work.

This .457 should be shooting alot faster than that. What I have found with my testing and working with my customers is
1) Some gauges read up to 300 pounds diffrent
2) For a bell curve the guns like 4500 PSI for three shots but for max power on the first shot they like 4100 to 4200 with with a 4200 lbs fill you will get 2 shots with the same POI and the third shot will be about one inch lower.
3) For target shooting us 4500 but for hunting I recomend 4100 or 4200 so that the first shot in the animal is the most powerfull.
Here is what I recomend to tune the gun to your gauge set up remember some gauges read up to 300 lbs diffrent.
1) Set your chroney up (make sure the lighting is good), shoot thru the chronograph at abut 8-10 ft.
2)Start out at 4000 psi shoot it through the chroney check results
3) recharge to 4100 psi and shoot and record speed
4) Repeat step 2 and 3 going up 100 psi each shot recording speeds up to 4500 psi
5) Review the speeds at each psi and you will see what is the most powerfull pressure setting with your gauges and your rifle.
6) Keep in mind that each chroney reads diffrent also
This gun with my test results should be shooting a 250 grain slug close to 1000 fps and should shoot a 280 grain slug around 950 fps.
I hope this helps you out to get the most power.

Brent Hoag

Thanks. I’d be interested to know, once you get it dialed in.

accuraccy i have not tried for yet. Power is a 240 grain slug at close to 900 feet per second on a 4500 psi charge. I was zeroing it in on power/ shot count did not even mount my scope yet dicy shooting through chrono without scope lol

What kind of power and accuracy do you expect from this rifle?
