Big Improvement!
So first off, I don’t work for Talontunes.com not do I personally know Tony so this is not an ad. BUT I have had a Condor SS .25 for a few years now. I was never very happy with it. It just would not group….at all. I bought a maddog stock….no difference…I sent it back to Airforce Airguns to see if it was defective. They kept it 3 months and I got it back and it shot the same.
I have used a small rubber o-ring behind the TT tophat and I do get better chrony readings. but not groups. Finally, I stuck it in the closet and haven’t touched it in a very long time. Didn’t want to sell a bad gun to someone either.
Anyway, long story short, I saw the plastic washers on TT website for about 5 bucks and thought…what the heck, can’t hurt to try one more thing. You get, I think, three washers of slightly differing thickness. I started with the thinnest.
Put it on and dialed it up to around Power Wheel setting 9 and with TT tophat with no insert am shooting around 810fps with EK Heavy MkI.
I have never bothered to shoot out past 30 yards with this rifle but now it grouped so well at 30, I did… and for the first time I shot a one hole 0.5″ group at 50.! Big smile! It is giving my Cricket .25 a real run for it’s money, in the accuracy dept.
I think my worst might have been around 0.75.
OK, my Question. Maybe the MKI pellet shoots best at this velocity but I’d like to see what it does at say 850 0r 860fps.
Should I up the power wheel or sand down the washer a bit? I think up around 10 and above, is a bit rough on the spring and of course sanding is a one way thing…(though I have two more washers). Any suggestions? Thanks. KP
