Bipod on the SS
I am looking to purchase the SS and was wondering if I can fit my Harris bipod on it or do I need to get the AF one. Also, I noticed on some pics, when folded, the AF bipod sticks out in front of the barrel. Is this how it fits or can it be adjusted to be shorter than the standard barrel. Thanks guys!

Thanks guys. It’s great to know I can use the Harris I already have.
U can mount a stud into the frame, or get a 11mm to picatinny rail, and then the Harris picatiny rail adapter. I went the rail route, because I’m not familiar with tap and dyes. Drilling would be cheaper if you have the tools. I spent about $20 on the rail and $30 on the adapter.
Check reference section on how to mount a harris. AF bipod is not that good… 😉

I took the cheap route. I drilled a hole in the forearm, large enough for a 3/8 (I think that’s what it was) bolt. I then ground down two sides of the bolt head so it would fit snugly in the slot in the forearm. This keeps the bolt from rotating. Then, it was just a matter of cutting off and grinding down the bolt and drilling a hole through it to make a rough kind of sling swivel. It isn’t particularly pretty, but it works like a charm, and the bipod is right where I want it.
I plan on actually redoing this part, using my lathe this time to do a nice job. 😳
