I got a dovetail to weaver/pictinny adapter & UTG bipod from Pyramyd Air and I believe the total cost was around $35.

pretty cheap and works great for me.

you might consider the versa-pod system.

where its not as “solid” in it’s mounting, it’s easily removed for transporting, if you desire. i personally prefer to remove my bi-pod when moving about. less weight, less likely to snag on underbrush, and may be quickly re-installed when needed. i’ve machined multiple mounting studs and attached them to other rifles (centerfire and rimfire) so i need only one versa-pod. i just move the legs from one rifle to another.

the ‘movement’ built into the versa-pod will also allow ‘adjustment’ on the shooters part to some degree, without making excessive movement.

once ‘adjustment’ is made, it’s as solid as any…

Here is all you need….

I just bought two more and bought three last week. In addition to these I have the real thing Harris and you cannot tell too much a difference between the two. You’ll love em

I have Harris Clones, Shooting sticks, long walking stick/monopod and a knee rest. What I take/use depends where I am and what I’m hunting.

If shooting from a bench or prone, the 6-9″ is all you should need. I’d go with one of the first 4 listed on the Harris website (HBR Series). The M in the name designates leg notches and the S designates that it swivels. I wish I had gotten the swivel model (HBR-S) and a lock now that I have the HBR model.

The pod lock (swivel lock) allows you to lock the bipod canted to one direction for using it as a rest on uneven terrain (such as shooting from the side of a car over the sloped hood). The model number for the lock is 747.

HBR-S and 747 will total about $130 from Harris website, but can be found a little cheaper if you shop around.

Ed-
my Harris bi-pod was like $70.00 bucks, with out a machine shop yo can drill and tap your A/F rifle about a 1/4″ in front of the front bushing a screw a stud in there and your set.

The Harris pods have been around forever my Dad still has one from the 60’s strapped to his 700V in 22-250. Great quality for sure.

Me .. I’m going with shooting sticks as you can get a lot more height out of them for shooting upstairs at the tree rats and I am getting a rock solid platform with the sticks to shoot from .. plus they make a great walking stick on the trail 🙂

Harris 6-9″ with stud tapped into the frame. I would look at the swivel models and get a swivel lock.

Good Harris clone with a stud tapped into a rail-weaver adaptor…
