Q:

Bluing Question

I just received my .22 Condor from Pyramydair the other day and while the gun arrived in perfect shape I did notice one thing that caught my eye.

On the Talon that I bought last year the metal has a deep dark bluing to it. On This Condor the bluing is nicely done and very even but it’s much lighter in color than the deep black on my Talon. If you hold the rifle away from you under a light source it almost has like a light purple-ish haze to it.

I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this with a Condor,,,,, or is it just me???

The rifle looks nice but the lighter color kinda contrasts to the darker black of the grips and the shroud.

Well I ‘m glad I had a hand in it Jeff 😀 You won’t be disappointed. Just wear good ear protection, heheh.

I ‘m too far gone I think to the point of no return 😕 But if want to know who has the bug worse than me, ask Jeff how many airguns he owns! 😉 You probably won’t get a straight answer because I don’t think he can name them all from memory without looking at a list! hehe

You’re a sick person Harry, it is freezing cold and you still keep shooting and who’s to say if you will ever get over the spending, on fine weaponary, by the way when is the last time you took your wife out to dinner? huh Harry? Yes Harry, I’m afraid we all know you have been biten by a bug, and all are wonderring if you’ll ever make it back to reality.

Harry,,,, you had a GREAT DEAL to do with me pushing the button on the Condor 😀

I sat there, night after night, looking at all those Condor hunting posts you made until I finally snapped. It is in fact all your fault, but I can’t thank you enough 😀

As for something being wrong with you,,,,,,, not at all my friend. I doubt whether this Condor will be my last Air Force purchase,,, I haven’t even gotten to play with this rifle yet and I’m already thinking .25 cal…..

I didn’t mention this rifle on the other forum, figured I’d wait until after Christmas,,, after all it’s my Christmas present and as per my wife it doesn’t officially belong to me until Christmas morning. But you my friend will know when it’s officially mine cause I’m gonna start bombarding you with questions 😕

Jeff

Jeff you sneaky person you!! Something told me you ‘d get a Condor very soon! I hope I had nothing to do with that, heheh 😆

Congrats on your new toy! I feel sorry for those coons getting into your garbage.

Not sure if you know this, but stock Condors don’t shoot well or consistently with a 3,000psi fill. You will discover that 2400-2700psi works best (without a heavier hammer & spring) for more consistent shots.

Since you got one, I had to get another one too just to stay ahead of you, hehe. A 3d Condor (.25) tuned to the teeth by Tony at TalonTunes! You don’t think there ‘s anything wrong with me, do you? 😯

Thanks,,, that makes me feel better about it. I guess I’ll get used to it. I just didn’t know if I got a lemon or not 8)

Jeff

Don’t worry about it. Mine is just as you described. Airforce don’t seem to take it seriously when it comes to uniformity throughout all the rifles in their line when it comes to exterior finish … among the other things.
