Boss showed up
😀 My new FX Boss showed up today. Impressive rifle out of the box. 30 caliber pellets look like accorns, big accorns for sure. Noise level not bad at all for a rifle this caliber. Backyard friendlyish. If you have HOOTS neighbors not the gun to go backyard plinking 😯 Muzzle report is midlevel friendly but this thing SLAMS into things and that noise will get attention for sure. 😯 😆
I sure hope AoA forgot to put the loading tray in my box 😳 Not one to be found anywhere in my package. I will say this rifle is a bitch to load with out a tray. 🙁 🙁 👿 I did not ask if one came with the rifle when I ordered it. If they do not come with the rifle shame on FX. I will call AoA in the AM and find out if it was just left out of my box. I had this happen when I got my Air Wolf from them also 🙄
Being a southpaw the stock sucks but I knew that up front and planned on make a new stock right away that will fit me. FX has some nice amidextrous stocks but could not see their way of putting one on the BOSS. 🙁 That’s lots of money for a rifle that I have to replace the stock…..bitch, bitch, I know 😈 While I’m whinning the FX owners manuel, though much better than a Kalibr Cricket manuel, sucks. Looks like they tried to write one pamplet to cover all their rifles. Great economy but written before the BOSS for sure.
I’m sure you FX fans find it fine but for a new FX guy like me not so good.
I’m looking forward to finding out if all this smooth twist barrel talk is for real 🙂 The Boss really is a nice looking and feeling rifle. Not heavey at all like I was expecting…..just feels good in your hands untill you shoulder it as a lefty 😈 😈

But the AOA problem has been going on for years now and it seems to still be alive and well.
I’ve got horror stories on them about the same type of thing that was posted up top about the “FORGOTTEN” magazines.

AoA seems to have a “put it back in the box problem” after they test fire a rifle 🙁 Seems simple enough to me but maybe they have a mag collecter on staff. 😯 Called them today and they are going to ship it right out to me, even bought an extra which I most likly will never use. Guess I’ll start making a single shot tray for it tomarrow. 😀 One spends that much money for an air rifle and you have to call to get all of it from AoA 😯 😯 somethings not right with that 👿 👿 No single shot trays for it either….come on Frieddie shape up here. Here’s a hot dog hunting/target rifle and all that’s offered is a mag to shoot the rifle with 🙄 🙄 and you even have to call AoA to get the mag with the rifle 😯 😯
Hey Oldgoat sounds like you are putting together a real hard shooter with that 257 set up…… 😀 Where can I get tuning info for FX rifles (the Boss) for sure. Nothing in their lit about adjustments 😥 😥 Help some one…
The Boss is supposed to come with a mag, AOA left my Boss’s mag out of the box also! When I opened my Boss’s box up and didn’t find the mag, I called AOA up and gave them hell! They sent me a mag out that day and I got it a week later. Great customer service! It would have been even nicer of them to send me a 30 caliber mag instead of the 25 cal that they sent me! I had to wait another week for a 30 cal mag!
I have ordered 4 air guns from AOA and they have left something out on 3 of the 4 orders. The only gun that was shipped with everything was a FX Royale 400 and it was set up to shoot 18.1 grain JSBs at 735 fps!
OK, 1oldguy2, I am going to steal your topic for a little bit. Here is my initial write up on my Boss and the “ambidextrous” stock that I made for it. The gun still isn’t totally completed but, Hart called me this morning and told me that my 28” long 1 in 14” twist .257” bore barrel shipped this morning. When the barrel comes in, I have to have it and a 24” long Hart barrel threaded for the Boss, a new .257” transfer port bushing and a .257” bolt made. I still also need to finish the stock that I made around 3 years ago.
I have 4 LBT .257” molds and I am going to order another 2 from Veral.

Knifemaker has shot some of my cast .257” LBT bullets and they seem to shoot really well out of his Condor with a chocked barrel. I hope to have my Boss/Teddgun up and going in a month or so.
Keep me posted! I know exactly what you mean the jump from .22 to .25 is not realized until you smack a squirrel with it! no comparison.
If the .30 is a bigger jump it will be incredibile!
I will wait for those 75 yard groups but most FX guns perform!
All I need now is .30 predator pellets!
Slayer5 if hitting hard is a big deal to you this may be your rifle. Like I said this thing slams into things 😀 The jump from 22 to 25 is big when it comes to power but early feeling about this rifle is the jump from 25 to 30 is even bigger. You should be very careful shooting any PCP air rifle but a 30 caliber really deserves your respect 😯 😯
How accurate is still out as far as I know ❓ 🙄 I bought this solely on the out come of the AoA extreme bench rest match last year 😯 The test target I got with the rifle from AoA was one small hole but it was only shot at 18 yards. I have a Red Rider that will do that 😆 I’m after 75 yard one SMALL hole groups 😯 I will keep you all posted what I find out over time. But first comes a new bench rest stock for this thing. 😀 😀

I am really waiting to hear what you have to say about this gun. I wanted a Wolverine but the reviews have been mixed. I am of the school bigger is better when it comes to air guns. If this is accurate and hits hard I will be ordering one!
