Q:

bottle dump/vel for 32g pell. at diff psi fills

Been playin with the .22 condor , trying to see what velocity i can run heavy pellets , and stay at 2000 psi, and the 21 g will go into the 1132 range ,

was trying out 32 g, and had a string going like this 969.890.940.955.937 ,
opened up the top hat from .085 , Pw 10 to like .095 and the tank dumped, 😯 😯

I thought well shit, 😳

Then went and cleaned my britches out.

The 32g. Euigens are real hard to get into the barrel and i guess the back pressure held the valve open at the 2000 psi level.

My condor valve is fully polished open up and modded and the spring is only tight enough to close the valve fully with no air in the tank, and have thread tape on the threads to keep the spring retainer nut from backing off.

So i guess this is what happens when you run a .177 barrel on a condor.?? with the back pressure and low valve return spring pressure.
I put 1000 in it and shot 21.g pells and it did fine, 14 g and fine.

the tried the 32.g with 1000 back in and it did the same thing,

SO after this i went to bed, but do you guys think this is why it did it. If i fill to higher pressure say 2700 or so it will probably will not do it , but i really don’t want it to dump again.

It was fine until i opened up the top hat that last bit.

I am trying to see what the max vel. would be if i was running a 2000 reg for these pellets .don’t know if i can max out the 32g. pells with this 2000 psi pressure, will play some more and see, i will turn the top hat back down and try and shoot some more 32g, and see what happens.

Is that good or bad

200 divided by 30= 6.6 psi per shot??!! 😯 😯 😯 😎

Lurker what pellet weights are you wanting to run.

the 2000 psi is all you need for all the way up to 21 g. pellets. for up to 1000fps. +

and i think that i can keep 28 grain pells in the 980’s to 1000 with 2000 psi.

i filled to 2200 and shot a string with 28 eui.pw.080,pw 4.6 1023,1015,1008,992,985,974, checked psi , 2000 left.

28 g Eui. 2600fill .098tp, pw 8, 1023.1045.1008.992.985. 974. 2000 left in tank

but to keep the 32g Eui. in the 990’s to 1000 its takes more air.

fill to 2000 , .085th pw4.6/ 907.857.830.837. pw9/ 930.912. pw10/912.899.

fill to 2000, pw8/tp.090, 969.890.940.955.937. ending 1905 psi

fill to2300 pw 6, t h .098 , 987.940.909.935.927.926.928.934.914.937.936.932.930.930.930.919.917. 2050 psi left

32g eui, 25oo fill, th .100,pw6 922, pw 10,/ 966.983.981.950.967.checked 2400psi left,

filled to 2300 psi 970.974.970.966.965.945.9940. checked 2100psi left

filled to 2700pw10 ,th .100, 991.993.993.1002.1004.998.997. 2550 psi left, ok so at 2700 fill it peaks after 3 or 4 shots at around 1000 and starts to fall off , so this is the peak of the curve.OH ths setting runs the 14g. pellets at 1350 +, and the 21 g kodiaks in the 1100 fps range. waisting allot of air for the light pellets here, needs to be turned down allot.for lighter stuff.

filled to 3000, 974.985.981.985.992.986.983.984. checked psi 2900 left. so this gives you an idea of how many shots you could get with this fill.it would go another 10 or so to get in the 1000s , then come back down if this is what you wanted to do.

I am still playing with this, the 32 g is really shooting good at 980 to 1000 , and that really surprised me. that’s 75 foot pounds of energy , 😯 i will add the targets to the condor target thread when i get a chance.

2500 psi to get 32g, pellets at 1000 or more.

2000psi gets 32 g, to 890’s, 930’s , 28g to 970s, 980’s

Pretty close on this, (NO ALCOHOL WAS USED WHILE TESTING) 😉

lurker the lower the psi fill the less hammer pressure or hit you need for efficiency

the more psi in the tank the higher the hammer has to be to get the velocity, without the regulator.

At 2000 psi, i really like Pw4.6 , it seems to be right on.

With a 2000 regulator i would start with Pw4.6, because this is the lowest setting that i have found to not have low f.p.s. shots in a string, then i would turn the p.w. up or down to adjust the fps to where i wanted it with light pellets.

with heavy pellets and 2500 reg ,i would start with pw on 8 or 10 and and adjust t.h. up to where it would not get any more psi, then come back down a hair , then take the p.w up and back down and see where you are. but i would want to do all this adjusting while shooting targets so that i could see what velocity that the pellet of choice, wanted to shoot the most accurately.

I have been shooting 14g. pellets with a 2000 fill for a long time. I wanted these pellets right at 980’s . this is what my gun likes to shoot the Cabala’s 14g h.p. .

The heavy pellets sure use a ton of air, like 200 psi for 10 shots, i can shoot like 30 14 g pellets at 980 with 200 psi.

Maybe Marmot_Militia will explain again how he sets up to get Max readings?

I believe he said he starts with PW=Max and TH =starting around 0.060″, then gradually turns up the TH until the increase in fps drops off.

I hope I’m thinking right as I plan on adjusting for the max fps and then turning down the PW 1st and then TH to get into the pellets accuracy sweet spot.

MM notified me my 2500 E-Tac Reg for AF Bottle shipped today. I’ll be working with .22 caliber at 24″ barrel, polished valve stem. No other power mods other than I “Flitz” polished the barrel some time ago and it still looks great and seems to give good velocities.
