Thanks guys you made me laugh.
I just dumped a load on a compressor, Being built now should be here in a couple of weeks,,
AS I build the savings again I will start to work on the Marauder, Just looking to see what I can do as far as getting the ducks all lined up…
The 25 Marauder was my first love in the PCP adventure, I am not going to abandon it,

Iride, the barrel band on the marauder is a careless protection measure; it should never touch, though some have gone to make it a rigid support, seemingly with good results. The bottle kit I made a run of just requires some care; ie, don’t use the rifle as a club. I have not had the POI issues you describe, and I suspect there is something else going on you’ve not noticed or reported.
cheers,
Douglas
Ride, the barrel band shouldn’t make a difference in POI like it does on a Disco. The Marauder barrel band should NOT be touching the shroud at any time. If yours is, there’s a problem… But, the good news is, you’ll know for sure what’s causing your crazy POI shifts! My old .25 marauder came to me out of box with the shroud touching the barrel band and POI was scattered. Lucky for me, all I had to do was rotate the shroud a half turn and it was centered and not touching anymore.. Bingo! No more POI shifting. I hope it’s as easy for you. It did make you get a Cricket though so we can call this a win-win situation whether you ever fix the Mrod or not lol
BTW, I remeber your comment a while back when you said, “If you fart in the same room as your Marauder, the POI is off.” That gave me a good laugh.
I also noted there was no barrel band? My POI changes so much on the Marauder it drove me to buying Crickets,,, I have an after market barrel band , It still changes POI if its stored, or leaned on anything, any bump and your SOL,,, When its sighted in and on the gun rest its a tack driver.
Put it up, stand it up lay it down , And it will be OFF ,,,,
As I was saying NO BARREL BAND!!!!!!!!!! Wow what you shooting at a side of a barn?
Just saying,,,
Mike
Anyone installed one of these bottles on a bullpup?
Just asking,
JDS, how big is the passage in that block? What is the maximum operating pressure the block/tube fixing method an stand? better yet…how are you fixing the block to the tube, and I’ll run my own numbers.
cheers,
Douglas
Thanks for showing the rifle with one of my kits installed. That one is threaded into the custom air tube with the same threads used on the OE fill plug.
Jdsairman.com is now offering the BROD Adapter to convert you Marauder to a Bottled and Regulated Gun.
This BROD adapter allows a metric threaded bottle (M18-1.5) to be attached onto stock and custom applications requiring a jdsairman AF metric 3000psi input and a regulated output Regulator of your choosing. Or you could use the jdsairman 13 cu. In tank or the 22 cu. In. tank and the 3000psi input and regulated output of your choosing.
Yes, they’re worth it, it is enough to my liking I built three of my own, and have at least a 4th on the boards. Fill pressure is a function of the tune and valve modifications. I have done 38 shots at 50 FPE running Kings from 2100-1500 psi. Valve is slightly different. With acquisition of a lathe it will get a better valve soon…:)
See Jim Gaska soon; he’s going to be making the adapter kits for both Gen1 and Gen2 variants.
cheers,
Douglas
Sure would like to here about some of these bottle builds and see how they are doing..
You know like shot count, fill pressure and is it worth it,
Mike
err…at least one ov these guys is waaay ahead ov you Roach….:) and has been for a while now.
cheers,
Douglas
If it had been flat ground, with a two story house in the way, I would have cleared the roof most likely. 😛
I have fired mortars with less angle than you were holding 😉
guys,,please let us know about this,,,how to build this??? why you are hiding it ??
And your all standing behind me.

may your funds accumulate rapidly…:D
On the shot count, for a given tune scale by 500/215 for shot count. due to volume in the adapter it will likely be a shot higher, and hopefully Mr. Gaska will bore out the 1.125-20 nipple inside for a wee bit more volume( the kits I sold ran a 1/2″ passage and increasing that to 5/8″ will be useful. For those who already have one of mine…don’t go too far; the fill chckc valve is retained by carefully managing the 1/8-NPT tap drill depth to the 1/2″ passage and if you go to 5/8″ too deep there is nothing to prevent ejecting the plug beyond recovery.
cheers,
Douglas
It remains that the marauder needs a nutty valve. If you run the stock barrel port I think the WAR valve will do, but to go further, you’ll need a bore area oblong port and modifications to run a .375 OD transfer sleeve( barrel spot face, receiver hole, air tube hole and valve spot face). The .375 option should also get a solid bolt, with receiver modified to pull it back and clear the transfer port. With that in place proper boolit energy can be delivered with a .257 barrel. The .375 transfer port should get moved .015″ forward to avoid the breech o-ring groove too…:)
