Q:

Bought a RWS 5G Magnum

I really like it. 700FPS in 177cal. Does anyone know where to get a scope mount for this gun and some nice wooden grips ?

thats in .177 ? thats pretty good power

Shot about 25 predators thru it this morning – got an average of 620fps on those. The Kodiaks ran 550 to 570 fps.

quote WalkonKing:

I just made a scope mount for my RWS 6M.

I had a stock scope rail for years. I then mounted a red dot on it and had a horrible problem with droop compensation. So I milled the scope rail and put to much droop in it….lol

So I got the pleasure of making a new one. 🙄

Yeah, .5″ of droop is only good at 3″ shooting distance. 😛

5G is a nice gun. Not going to scope it though… even if you could, I dont know of any springer rated pistol scopes. Mine chronies healthy in the mid 500’s with normal weight pellets… which is what you should get out of yours as well. RWS is a bit optimistic with their chrony numbers and always have been.

These guns are wickedly accurate, but like any other springer, must be held properly. If you grip it like a 45, you’ll get crap accuracy out of it. Give it a loose hold and it’ll hit what you want it to.

try http://www.airgrips.com for some grips. May need to speak directly with Rick as I dont know if he keeps stock of makes to order.

Tachdriver does it have scope rails. One of the RWS pistols did not have them? IIRC.

I will chrony it in the morning. The kick is decent, accuracy will be tested in the morning also. It has fiber optic sights – nice.

That’s really smokin’ for a pistol. Nice addition to any power mongers collection. How is the recoil managability and accuracy. Have you chronied it yet? Curious if they do an honest 700 with anything other than Lasers.
