BSA Lonestar with new sights!
Just thought I would post some pics of my Lonestar with its new AF target sights. The 3inch fluted alum. dovetail adapter was made by Jim(Marmot_Militia). I had the adapter in my hands just 10 days after Jim said he could make it for me. 😯 😀 Thanks alot Jim

Once I watched the Oregon State Nationaal Guard champ put three shots into a half inch with iron sights, at 200 yards.
I was addicted to peep sights immediately, shortly after that I got my first M1A. They have extremely good peep sights, and once zeroed you can use them as a range finder, but only on things you shoot. The Garand has the same sights.
I competed in 1000 yard black powder cartiridge competion and primarly used iron sights, but my rifle had close to $700.00 in sights on it from Montana Vitinage Arms.
For hunting tho, nothing beats a peice of glass, you can see the sticks between you and your target and define your quarry so much better.
Jeff that rifle will give you years of service, when using a globe, front and rear, and a round bull, you will be able to connect as long as you can see that bull. Your eye will automatically center the two consequtive circles with the bull in the center.
A peep is serviceable for a lot of hunting but mostly close in stuff, you can hit further but like I said you can’t define small twigs in the way which will deflect a bullet. But close in fast shots, where you ignore the rear ghost sight and concentrate on the post, can be very fast. Also poor light takes its toll on us older shooters with peeps.

The BSA LS is a sleeper in my opinion. BSA has been around forever and they make their own barrels (if i remember right). When i hunted and target shot with that gun along with my Rapid 25…accuracy wise, they were the same. Just that the R25 had more shots cause of its bigger 500cc bottle.
Hated to get rid of it but good to see you doing something awesome with it. It looks really good like that.

Yeah hopefully I still have another 25-30 years before my eyes start to go.
I have been doing some more shooting and only have one complaint/problem. It is very difficult to shoot in low light/shaded areas and hit targets that are not bright colored or in bright areas.
I am telling you those are the best I used to notice I said I used to love them and when you get them lined up on your target or game there done for but my eyes are not good enough any more to use them but I still have a couple laying around here at the house, This is a fact when I used to shoot 22 rim fire competition I always brought my Anzhutz with me it had peep sights on it and there was always a couple guys there that I could say hey how about a match you guys with your scopes and me with my peep sights needless to say I went home with some easy cash!

Oh by the way the Lonestar in the pic is the one I got from you about 6 months ago. I love the accuracy this thing has!

LOL…holy crap, i don’t think i’ve ever seen that before on a PCP. That front sight adapter is pretty damned cool to say the least.

I haven’t done any real target shooting with it yet, all offhand so far but the 1 inch spinners at 20 yards and pop cans at 50 yards didn’t stand a chance.

As an old iron sight shooter I am drooling.
You know of course with aperture sights front and rear and shooting at a bull you can do just about as well as with a scope.

I shoot JSB 15.9s most of the time mainly because they gave me MOA groups with a scope and because they are also my Talons favorite. It also shoots JSB 18.1g, Monsters, and Predators well, along with Kodiaks.
