Q:

BSA Pump

When I’m filling my tank now my pump has started messing up at the bottom of the stroke. The air appears to be flowing back into the pump somewhat. The pressure falls rather than staying set and the pump is a bitch to pull back to the top. The downstroke puts air in the tank and the pressure returns to what it was before it fell but, then the cycle repeats itself. This started pretty much suddenly. Does anyone have any suggestions? Do you think maybe it needs rebuilding? Are the kits available from anyone other than AOA?

Pumping is a real pain but, not being able to shoot is a biggger one 🙁

Thanks!

I hope that will work!

Maybe its time for a rebuild?

Thanks Shadoh but I have experienced what you are describing many times in the past but was always able to get it to stop by forcing the pump completely through the stroke and pausing, then going the other way and pause again until it cleared. This time, it feels exactly the same only it will not clear out and start pumping properly. I don’t know if something is stopped up or what. Again, thanks for your help!

I sometimes feel that in my pump if I dont do close to complete strokes up as well as down. Both directions are moving the air from chamber to chamber and if you dont do a complete up stroke it seems like you get a high pressure lump stuck in one of the chambers that only gets worse and worse until you cant pump anymore.
