Buddy bottle stock
Hi guys, I have a general wondering and wanted more incite on the matter. I was looking at my gun the other day and looking at the buddy bottle in particular and thinking how can this be made to look like a stock coz no matter what I do it still looks like a bottle. so I was thinking, there is a lot of very bright and capable people hear so Il ask you!
Is it possible to construct a bottle that is shaped like a basic shaped stock?
One thing I thought of is that because they hold alot of pressure any other shape would buckle but I still wanted to ask.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I figured it would be a costly and complex procedure but was hoping someone maybe did sumut like it already.

You could always make the threads that go into the gun collar a bit longer and put a ring/nut on it so you could tighten it down when aligned. Put an allen screw in that ring and you could lock it in place and only have to set it up once.
I drew this one up a long time ago. It would have been way to heavy.
Wolfy, tthats a hell of a brain storm on short notice. When do you go into production and how do you plan to align it on the a f guns? Do all the frame threads start at thee same place? Maybe supply a new one for custom placement of the locating screws. ❓
Many guns already use long cylinders like that for their reservoirs. I like the idea.

Good idea in concept, but impractical to apply.
Your bottle would have to be so thick at the corners to prevent rupture that it would be quite heavy.
The flex at the joints from the pressure would soon cause it to crack at those points. With a round/cylindrical shape, the pressure is spread evenly on all surfaces and so is the stress from flexing under pressure. (which is why dive tanks, etc. are pressure tested, they flex and weaken over time)
It would also tend to bow out at the flat surfaces on each fill.
Maybe start of with something like this.Using two small air rifle cylinders connected via a machined Aluminum block to create a base with which to sleeve with a wooden stock.
Just a quick sketch.Not sure if it will work,but you will have a stock shape and around the same volume of air.
Maybe other members could help improve.
search “lemark” (sp?) he has done some wooden tank covers that if you have a wood lathe and know what your doing would be fairly easy to do.
as for a bottle made in the shape of a stock, I think unless you have unlimited funds to through at it, it ain’t going to happen, everything is posable with enough money 😉

A smaller cylinder with a stock shaped piece of plastic or wood around it would be cool to see. Probably wouldn’t get a lot of shots out of it. And I’m sure there are other problems I’m not thinking of.

Yer I seen those FX bottle covers and I seen those small bottles with the tactical stock but im just wondering If my ideas posible?
If it is then the stock/bottle would hold the same volume or close to the same volume of our bottles and it would look beter but be simple. somthing simple like this

You could make the bottle smaller and fit it into a stock shaped thing, but it will almost definitely have to be a cylinder. Nothing (as far as I know) has a normal looking stock that holds air itself, the stock just holds the cylinder. FX has a cover that slips over the airforce bottle that makes it look really good. However, it is crazy expensive and it makes the cheek so high you need ultra high scope rings.
