Bulldog hits Airgundepoe golf ball at 308 yards
I see thelakerat hit a golf ball at 308 yards with my 178 grain bullets at 250 fPE, don’t see many of the other magazine fed 357 bullpups performing like that.
One of the first posts here says the bulldog is not accurate and not a 200 fPE gun, well mine doesn’t drop to 200 fPE until around 160 yards, so that might be true, and a golf ball at 308 yards is just child’s play, right?
Pitbull airguns can regulate a bulldog to give 10 shots at 250 fPE and make it sound like a 25 mood.

DO YOU EVER GET TO THE BOARDWALK IN Lahaina Maui?
Two years ago this week, I was walking with my wife and son In law and daughter, they are scuba guides there, anyway I passed a fellow that looked like you and he acted like he recognized me.
I have kicked myself every since wondering if it was you.
No, never been to Maui Brother.
I drilled out the barrel and transfer port to .25. I didn’t remove the spring. I Might have to drill it out to .30. Sure I can try some 180 12gr slugs. I tried a bunch of the lighter stuff already. For the reg extended air tube and a longer mod it was $450.
manny,

Drumie, have you ported yours and removed the valve return spring?
would you like to try some 180’s , I am not in the casting business, but if you pm me your addy , I will send you some to try.
how much did the air bow tube teal, set you back?
Ok I did a quick shot string with my bulldog with the extended air tube and reg. I filled to 4000psi and the reg is set at 2500psi. I was using 120 gr slugs and this is what i got.

The reg still has to break in. If I filled to 4500psi I think I could have gotten 10 shots on that string before falling off the reg. I think I am going to turn up the reg some to get some more power out of it.
I was using this post for reference and thinking we where talking tuned Bulldog
” I guess first off it is a 357 with a magazine, then of course is power, and for a magazine fed 38 with a 3000 PSI fill it is head and shoulders above the rest.
I have had some nice big bores, but you could not hand pump them and at this stage in life I don’t want to spend another grand for the tanks and Shoebox.
Then there is the simplicity of modding the thing, believe me when I say it is so easy a blind man can do it, you can easily gain close to 100 FPS, then that sparrow killer is pushing those 81 grain pills at 1050 FPS, if JSB ever puts a plastic tip on that pellet you might be able to tackle starlings!
Yeah it is ugly, noisy with light projectiles and you can’t be an elitist air gunner with a $800.000 rifle, but ugly is as ugly does and it can put out JSB’ around 300 fps faster than guns costing three times as much, figureing in the PA Christmas discount. ”
But obviously the 250 FPE Dog is a completely different gun then those that come out the factory :biggrinn: :biggrinn:
I just received the extended air tube, and regulator from Pitbull airguns. I just installed it and filled with air to make sure there aren’t any leaks. My regulator is set at a hair under 2500psi. Once I put some rounds thru this gun I can let you know how well it does then. My good friend also bought a bulldog after my results. After he did to his what I did to mine he could hit a 2″ spinner at 125 yards every time. These guns will shoot with some work done to them.
That is exactly the ballpark I was thinking of for the Bulldog, ………of course once you put a bigger air reservoir and fill to higher pressure it will change dramatically
I had a Bulldog and I also had an American Air Arms Slayer .357 and the Bulldog can’t even lick the Slayer boots and those are both Magazine fed .357 Pups.
I will go to ask the expert but I really doubt that the Bulldog can get 10 shots at 250 FPE, really, really doubt it.
Why the doubt? He adds more then just a regulator. He adds an extended tube, regulates to 2400psi and fills to 300bar. See if your “expert” says it’s possible then. Have them run the numbers. 400cc at 4300psi, regulated at 2400, shooting 145g at 900psi is an efficiency of .82fpe/cuin if you get 10 shots. Not possible? Sure seems very possible to me, as long as the gun is able to put out that power.
Heck there are guys out there claiming efficiencies of 2.64fpe/cuin in .25cal guns, those are the results I would be questioning, LOL
Here’s one of his videos.
OK then, we aren’t talking just Bulldog then :biggrinn: :biggrinn:
Bigger air tube, High pressure fill,
things change then ……..any platform if you start doing those kinda mods will yield much higher performance then stock, so at that point it starts to make more sense :winkn:
I have a Slayer .357 and 2 bulldogs. After working on my bulldog it will shoot right with my Slayer at 100 yards. After that the Slayer does do better. Am I saying that the bulldog is as good as the Slayer? No, but for the cost of it and if you like to work on your guns it is a awesome gun. I was able to get 4 great shots on a fill with my Bulldog using 120gr slugs. I just received the extended air tube, and regulator from Pitbull airguns. I just installed it and filled with air to make sure there aren’t any leaks. My regulator is set at a hair under 2500psi. Thanks Hoot.
These days it is 10 yards, and I can’t write much, but I am still pulling the trigger.
I had to learn to shoot left handed as I had my right eye removed, makes hitting the ports in the spruce plate a real hot comedy.
:hoot:
It’s good to see you are still enjoying this sport.
Best regards,
Kindly ‘Ol Uncle Hoot:
Sweet!

I have a quarter sized spot at 6 feet of 20/200 for my best shooting.
